We stayed at the resort from 8/19 to 8/26. This was our second week of our vacation. The first week was spent at the Sheraton Park Hotel next to Disneyland. We had a beautiful stay at the Sheraton. Not so at the Riviera Oaks Resort. The rooms were clean and the size of the two bedroom unit was fine. The kids also enjoyed the pool. We had major problems with our rooms. And I do say rooms! We had to move three times in one week. Not fun! After our first night, we were woken up by loud banging in the pipes. This would happen when someone in our villa number would run the water. My wife complained to the front desk, and we were told that we could move that morning. So, we packed everything up, and changed to our second room. A few days later, after returning to our room after a long heated day at the park, we opened our room to a hot box. The tempature was over 80 degrees in the room. The AC was not working. My wife contacted the front desk at around 10:50 PM, and was told by the person working at the front desk to put our key into the energy saver, and the AC should kick on in a few minutes. She asked if someone would be at the front desk in case it didn't work, and was told that someone would be there all night. Well 15 minutes later, and no AC, she called back to reach the security guard. He informed her that everyone leaves at 11:00 PM. It would have been nice to be told that by the person she spoke to. Nothing against the security guard, but he make a trip to our room to check things out. There was nothing he could do to fix the problem. So, let's more a third time to another room that the AC works so we can get some sleep in a cooler room. The third room AC unit was shut off, so it was very hot in the room. Keep in mind that we have a 10 year old, and it's now around midnight. It took over an hour to start to cool the room down. A complete nightmare week! Our AC unit needed to be repaired. Apparently, a lot of the units freeze up. And our freezer also leaked into the fridge. My wife was cleaning up water everyday. We were told that the ice maker was in correctly. So they fixed it, but it stilled leaked.
We did find the rooms to be clean. Parts of the resort need to be fixed. They also need to have more washer/dryers on the property as well. The kids did enjoy the pool. Unfortunately, with all of the moving, it was quite hard to get settled and in a relax mode. After paying all of the fees to exchange into the resort, we were disappointed. We would not return, and plan to leave a review with Interval International as well. Quite a difference coming from the Shearton to here.
Also, if you plan to visit San Diego, it's a 45 to 60 minute drive one way. It's kind of a pain when you have to drive that distance everytime to visit one of the attractions.
