“Winter Wonderland”

I used to live in Pollock Pines and made the mistake of moving away from there a few years ago. While we lived there, it was absolutely the best place that I could have raised my kids. I would not have changed one single thing!! My kids experienced things that most kids only see about on their tv sets because the parents are too busy to expose them to what nature has to offer. For those of you that dont like small town atmospheres and the incredible beauty that nature has to offer in the mountains.....then this is not a place for you to stop. If you do enjoy the quiet and serene feeling of complete nature, then this IS the place to stay. You have to have a easy and relaxed attitude to be able to appreciate what this town has to offer. If you are like most people from the city and are always in a hurry to fly through life without enjoying true nature, then keep on going, please do not stop here and ruin it for those that can appreciate it.

“My folks enjoyed!”

I live in Pollock Pines but work in Folsom CA. A couple of years ago my parents came to visit my wife and I and our 5 children. Frankly my wife and I moved to Pollock Pines to escape the smog (and uptight neighbors). My parents stayed a week in the Westhaven Inn. They enjoyed their stay, the room was clean and quite. In the morning my parents would open the siding door to their porch and watch the humming birds feed on some local foliage. As for Pollock Pines being a Hellhole, I hope that people who feel that way just simply "stay away". We who live here, live here out of choice because of it's beauty and tranquility.

“It's Pollock Pines!”

We've worked around the world. Retired in Pollock Pines. My son (in Dallas) wanted his marriage here so we booked well over a hundred rooms, all of the ones in PP and a lot in Placerville. People came from afar as England and Hawaii. No complaints. I suspect someone from Camino (a five min. drive) staying in PP. Reunion in Tahoe? go to Tahoe, it's only 50 min. drive. We do all the time, got a suite there.
I suspect a cheap charlie. Of course maybe they had a bad day, but not what I've heard. Pony Express Trail is both historic and has any number of tours go down it. Small town? You bet! Like it that way. Been to London, Paris, Rome, Tokyo, etc. PP is not that, but's okay.

“HellHole!”

A couple of weeks ago i happened to visit Pollock Pines, California because our family reunion was located in Lake Tahoe. The rates of the hotels in Lake Tahoe were very high so my family and i could not afford them. Choosing to stay in Pollock might have been the worst decision i have made in years. The staff of Westhaven inn on countless occasions ignored my requests. The bed had not been made and there seemed to be human feces in the toilet. The motel is located on Pony Express Trail which is the absolute trashiest road i have ever seen. i highly reccomend never staying at this hellhole and when you go to Lake Tahoe make sure to pass right through Pollock Pines.
