My husband and I planned a week at Neon Rose for our second anniversary based only on what I learned from the website and Trip Advisor reviews. We were not disappointed--it was absolutely wonderful. We arrived on a rainy, windy night to a warm, cozy cottage with a fire ready to light in the wood stove. We had planned a week of hiking, kayaking, and lots of time outdoors. Unfortunately, I was still getting over the flu when we arrived and it rained much of the week, so we didn't get to spend much time outdoors, but with the rain on the roof, the fire going, the incredible view, and the wildlife show right outside our window, it was still a wonderful week.
There were fresh flowers and plants throughout the house. The bathroom was sparkling clean with lots of towels and the spa tub in the bathroom was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable, with lots of great pillows. The kitchen is setup with anything and everything you might want for breakfast. Our refrigerator was stocked with fresh eggs, low-fat milk, half & half, low-fat and non-fat yogurt, butter. We also had fresh fruit, wonderful whole-grain bread, pancake makings, granola, oatmeal, coffee, lots of teas, and lots more that I can't remember. There is lots of reading material at the cottage and the Wi-Fi made my husband very happy.
Throughout the week in the meadow outside our window, we saw a coyote, wild turkeys, cows, horses, and numerous hawks and other birds. The frogs in the pond next door started croaking around dusk every night. The last morning before we left, the sun came out and we spent the morning with our coffee and oatmeal on the deck looking at beautiful Tomalas Bay.
We didn't go on a single hike but my husband and I had a wonderfully peaceful time at Neon Rose. We had the whole week to be together and went home feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
