“The most perfect nature-lover's romantic getaway imaginable.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 May 2010

We had heard of the Neon Rose for years, but it seemed to be booked a lot and we didn't manage to stay there until recently. We have always loved visiting Point Reyes Station and have stayed EVERYWHERE, and we can't believe it took us this long to find the one place that we have found truly unforgettable! The entire guest cottage faces the most picturesque and expansive view of the Tomales Bay watershed that you could ever imagine, and the garden around the cottage is stunning. Being there is like living in a breathtaking painting that is constantly changing. Amazing bird watching & sunsets. Sandy the owner is ORGANIZED, and what a character! Such a lovely person. It's a beautiful 1mi or so walk to and authentic farming town where we continue to be delighted with culinary greats and good prices across the board. Thumbs way way UP!

“My favorite place in the world”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 April 2010

This is my fifth time in the Neonrose and i hope to come back many more times. This place seems always new to me. It feels as clean and fresh as ever. All i want to do is sit at the fire-place and look over the bay and see the light of a new day streaming in and fading out.
The perfect place for people who love nature and quietude.

“A Neon Rose is that cottage you wish were your own so you could come out every weekend!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 February 2010

I highly recommend A Neon Rose to anyone contemplating a visit to the Pt Reyes National Seashore area.

As you turn off the road onto the enclave where A Neon Rose is located you can feel yourself entering a special haven. Walk through the gate leading to the cottage and you find yourself in your own world - stepping stones lead you across a lovely garden onto a large sundeck which, like the cottage itself, overlooks a dramatic view you would have never imagined - down Tomales Bay and the Estuary, framed by majestic Inverness Ridge on one side and the rolling hills so characteristc of the area on the other.

The quality of light in this place is just amazing - it's a real photographer or artist's dream! The openess of the cottage brings you right into the environment. The beautiful soft colors proprietress Sandy has chosen are soothing and become part of nature's palette.

The chemical free environment is of prime importance for me and I have no allergy issues when I'm staying at this cottage. The pot belly is really easy to use and virtually smoke-free. There is no funkiness here.

I love the large whirlpool bath with huge picture window looking out on the garden. The bed is heaven! The fully equipped kitchen means you can enjoy tasty snacks or prepare a gourment meal with ease.

The cottage is in its own little world at the far end of an acre lot which has been thoughtfully landscaped for year-round enjoyment with fruit trees, flowers & bulbs. It is an oasis of peace and tranquility.

It's a short stroll into Pt Reyes Station and easy access to highway 1. You'll wish you'd come for longer and will look forward to returning again!

“Cozy, comfortable get-away”

My husband and I planned a week at Neon Rose for our second anniversary based only on what I learned from the website and Trip Advisor reviews. We were not disappointed--it was absolutely wonderful. We arrived on a rainy, windy night to a warm, cozy cottage with a fire ready to light in the wood stove. We had planned a week of hiking, kayaking, and lots of time outdoors. Unfortunately, I was still getting over the flu when we arrived and it rained much of the week, so we didn't get to spend much time outdoors, but with the rain on the roof, the fire going, the incredible view, and the wildlife show right outside our window, it was still a wonderful week.

There were fresh flowers and plants throughout the house. The bathroom was sparkling clean with lots of towels and the spa tub in the bathroom was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable, with lots of great pillows. The kitchen is setup with anything and everything you might want for breakfast. Our refrigerator was stocked with fresh eggs, low-fat milk, half & half, low-fat and non-fat yogurt, butter. We also had fresh fruit, wonderful whole-grain bread, pancake makings, granola, oatmeal, coffee, lots of teas, and lots more that I can't remember. There is lots of reading material at the cottage and the Wi-Fi made my husband very happy.

Throughout the week in the meadow outside our window, we saw a coyote, wild turkeys, cows, horses, and numerous hawks and other birds. The frogs in the pond next door started croaking around dusk every night. The last morning before we left, the sun came out and we spent the morning with our coffee and oatmeal on the deck looking at beautiful Tomalas Bay.

We didn't go on a single hike but my husband and I had a wonderfully peaceful time at Neon Rose. We had the whole week to be together and went home feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

“Perfect private retreat not too far from amenities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2008

I was looking for a quiet, private place for a long earned weekend away in the Pt Reyes area. Our main criteria were privacy, comfort, and since Pt Reyes has many local food supplies, a kitchen. I also really wanted a great view, a fireplace and a tub - ideally a bath tub rather than a hot tub.

The Neon Rose fit the bill perfectly. It's a good sized property for 2 people a few miles from the town of Pt Reyes Station. It's down a private road and adjacent to the owner's home, but is incredibly private. The property is surrounded by a private garden and fence and the property backs to the bay so the view is incredible. The website photos are accurate but I have to emphasize what a comfortable and relaxing experience it was.

The garden is flower filled and very pretty, and there's also a deck overlooking the "wetland" area adjacent to the bay. The wood stove is very cozy and the kitchen was perfect. Well equipped with not only pots, pans and utensils, but also kitchen basics and local supplies such as yogurt, eggs and fruit. It was a pleasure to pick up supplies from the various food stores in Pt Reyes Station and have fun in the kitchen.

The tub is wonderful. There is a large window facing the private garden so it can feel a little exposed to take a shower (the jacuzzi tub is also a combo shower) although I again stress the *private* garden. The bed is incredibly comfortable. I am picky about beds but I slept unbelievably well. The owner is very helpful and only a phone call away if needed. The property is extensively stocked with reading material but it's hard to do anything but appreciate the amazing views.

I highly recommend this for a romantic get away and general R&R.
