“Great”

We stayed here as part of our Road Trip on the West Coast in July 2011. It was ideal for our 2 night stay - we had a room for 4 which was just comfortable and we also had one of the 3 bedroom apartment suites which was excellent as you had your own deck with BBQ.

The hotel is a 2 minute walk to the Beach/Pier and there is bar right next door. The staff were always accommodating and the breakfast was continetal which was also good, there was a choice os patries, bagels and cereal and tea/coffee and juices.

If I am ever back ont he West Coast I will make sure I stop here, again!

“First and last time”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

We made a spur of the moment trip to one of our favorite towns, Pismo Beach. We always stay at the Sandcastle Inn but it was full so we got a room at the Pismo Beach Hotel. Plain and simple, we saved a couple of bucks but the rooms were sub standard when compared to the Sandcastle Inn. Oh well, live and learn. Hope the review helps my other reviewers on Trip Advisor as I always try to help my fellow travelors as well.

Room Tip: Go to the Sandcastle inn, our favorite and make ADVANCE reservations

“Always just what we need!”

I absolutely love this hotel. The location is as good as it gets. We always stay on the 4th floor facing the main strip. Nice big room, clean bathroom, big comfortable bed, continental breakfast. It's perfect for what we need, especially for those spur of the moment trips to the coast. Will comeback!!

“Special staff...”

True this is an elderly hotel (the date on the wall outside is 1937 so no secret) but it is clean and spacious and right in the centre of the town, but fortunately with its own car park. We had a suite on the third floor at the back of the hotel and once Harry's Bar next door shut up shop (2am) all was quiet. The bed was huge and comfortable and there was masses of storage space for clothes, something other hotels often seem to lack.
The staff though are brilliant, I say this especially as my husband wasn't well at all while we were here and ended up in hospital, and everyone was so considerate and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for anyone, which helped me a lot. With a special mention, as another reviewer, of Robyn, who was so kind and did so much to help us.

“A nice old hotel at a good price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

We stayed at the Pismo Beach Hotel for one night on a trip up the West coast. It is a nice, old hotel with an older style lift that you had to make sure you shut properly on exiting or it can't be called from another floor. The room was large and so was the bed. The bathroom had a bath, which was nice for relaxing at the end of the day but unfortunately the water pressure was not the best for a shower. The downside was that there was no hairdryer, no air conditioning and the free wifi only worked in the lobby. The price was quite good (we booked directly through the hotel's website) considering that Pismo Beach is very 'touristy' and quite expensive. The continental breakfast included cereal, bagels, english muffins, fruit and yoghurt. It was ok, but not to our taste (however, it has to be said that this was the case at every place we had continental breakfast in the USA - so full of sugar and artificial flavours; even the yoghurt and the bread!). It is a great location on the main street where all of the shops are and close to the pier for a nice stroll. A good choice if you are looking to stay in this location.
