Unsurpassed ocean view from atop the mesa. Beautifully maintained grounds.

Older motel very well maintained. Nice, clean rooms. Well priced. Great outdoor pool with 2 hot tubs, comfortable even when weather in the 60s.
Free light breakfast. Free access to adjacent health club complete with weight rooms, indoor lap pool, indoor hot tub, racket ball courts, outdoor tennis courts.
Very friendly, helpful staff.
I found it refreshing that the maids would not take a tip left on the dresser without a note from the guest. Wow, that's honesty.
This was our 3rd or 4th stay.... we'll be back.

The view from the room is amazing, the gorgeous sunset and the sound of the ocean - fantastic. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. However, the hotel is older and the decor is outdated. The water in the shower did not get hot, they provided a teeny bottle of shampoo for 3 adults and no conditioner. The continental breakfast was ok, waffles, pastries, yogurt, oatmeal, fruit, tea and coffee. Nothing special. There is not a microwave in the room.
The proximity to the beach, the view, the friendly staff and the affordable price make this is a good hotel choice for Pismo Beach, but I will look around for something a little nicer next time.

Every winter we leave the Oregon coast and go to Pismo for warmth and sun. We always seem to find it, and we always stay at the Kon Tiki. We have stayed in different rooms over the years, and all offer spectacular views, and private sun balconies facing arguably the best cliffside plateau view of close-by Pismo Beach pier and beach action down below to the south, and communities of Shell Beach, Avila Beach, and distant smalltown-fisherman-wharf-style San Luis Pier to the north. From the Kon Tiki, it's literally just a couple-minute drive to some great restaurants in downtown Pismo, including Rosa's Italian. Stay at the Kon Tiki if you can. It's often booked on weekends if you wait too long to reserve your room.

Fantastic Hotel to stay in,at Pismo Beach,staff is super friendly. Grounds and rooms are very well kept and clean,been going there for the last fifteen years wouldnt stay any where else. The weather is Pismo is awesome also.
