“A very special place on earth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

This resort needs to be on everyone's bucket list. From the setting to the service to the rooms , all was exceptionally tasteful and wonderful without being over-the-top or snooty. Walking along the beach every morning was a fabulous way to start the day, then breakfast at Roy's and on to 17-mile drive and to Carmel for shopping or down to the wineries for a little tasting. The guys loved golfing Pebble Beach the best, followed by Spanish Bay and then Spyglass. We would rendezvous in the evening around the firepits for wine and a beautiful sunset accompanied by the music of the solitary bagpiper. Very memorable! We know why our companions have been going back for 20 years...We enjoyed dining at Casanova in Carmel as well as the resort restaurants.

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful with great views.

“Heaven on Earth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

My fiance' and I stayed at the Inn and were immediately in love. We kept saying that it felt like we were on another planet. It was paradise. The rooms and service are exceptional. We had a view of the 1st green. Make sure to eat at Roy's and see the bag piper at sunset. You can also hang out at the firepits on the back side of the Inn where there is full service and they even provide blankets for you to bundle up in. You can even request that the staff light your fireplace each night before you return to your room. Great location and shopping as well. It is expensive but certainly worth it. We decided to get married here this year. Their event staff is exceptional as well.

“It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Not much more to say. It doesn't seem to matter whether its the rooms, the view, food, golf, service, hospitality, local attractions (Carmel, Cannery Row, Big Sur, wineries, beaches), the fire pits, or the bagpiper at sunset every day, Of course, its pricey but worth the cost to experience this special place once (or many more).

Room Tip: Request and ocean view.

“What could you possibly not like?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

The staff at this resort is first class. They always make you feel special, and have a very friendly, relaxed, yet professional manner of doing it. The rooms are wonderful with all the amenities top shelf. I was there to golf at Pebble Beach, Links of Spanish Bay, and Delmonte Golf Club. While I detest cell phones and cameras on golf courses...this had to be an exception. The views were some of the best I have taken in. The Montery Pennisula should be on everyone's bucket list, even if you are not a golfer. If making this trip I highly recommend staying at the Inn at Spanish Bay. You won't be disappointed!

Room Tip: Make sure to ask for a room facing the outside of the resort towards the golf course. The first flo...

“Expensive but worth it at least once”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Stayed here as part of a Pebble Beach Stay and Play package. Very expensive but they do treat you well. They charge a $26 fee per day so you don't have to tip everyone. But I feel kind of awkward not tipping the valet or the guy bringing your luggage to the room. They upgraded our room to a golf course view and left us a bottle of wine to celebrate my birthday. The room was very nice. Honor bar included a fee for alcohol but sodas and snacks were free. However, they don't restock the sodas or snacks so it's a one time thing. There are nice walking paths right from the resort that walk through part of the golf course before coming out on 17 mile drive. Only reason I wouldn't stay here again is the cost.
