We recently stayed a couple of nights at Paso Robles Inn. I researched TripAdvisor before going and noticed quite a few negative reviews in recent months. This had me concerned since this would be our first visit to the Inn. We are pleased to report that our stay was very nice. The folks at the front desk were very nice and helpful. Our room was nice and the bathroom was big. We stayed in the building where the Ball Room is (right over the Ball Room) - no events - so it was nice and quiet. The grounds are immaculate. The location of the Inn is very nice for walking and shopping. I would recommend the restaurant Artisan if you get a chance - exceptional!

We attended a concert at the fairgrounds and it was very nice that the shuttle bus picked up right in front of the Inn.

Thanks and we will come back.

We booked a room for our wedding night while in town getting married. The building stunk of sulphur, smelling like skunks or bad farts. My wife stayed the night before so when we arrived the hotel had not even cleaned the room or made the bedding. The room stunk of skunk smell the bed was a mess ,they charged us for water even.when she explained the room wasnt cleaned and our situation ,the staff laughed it off and said they were busy cause it was saturday...oh well. we are both disscusted and will never go back. The only thing i could do was to tell others not to stay.ive notified my family and friends in paso robles too and told them and they too are not recommending the hotel to any of their out of town guests ever! I recommend some of the other hotels in the area like the new marriot or the carlton in atascadero, also the apple farm in san luis obispo is nice , but stay away from the dump- the paso robles inn.

Pro: right on the park with 'out the door' access to this small, elegant city. Helpfull staff, good parking, resort atmosphere. By far, the best hotel location in town.
Cons: Rooms and facilities in general are out of the 70's and the whole place is in need of major updating, ie, you can feel the 40 plus years of use once you walk in the rooms. Nothing seems fresh. TV did not work. Paid big bucks for the private balcony jacuzzi suite but the thing was full of scum and stains. Really disgusting. WAY OVERPRICED. Needs owners with a commitment to making this the flagship Paso Robles 'go to' hotel, instead of milking the hotel history and ripping us off.

A miserable, condescending woman named Nicole checked us in after we waited twenty minutes to even be acknowledged. Details about the reservation were incorrect. Instead of apologies offered, we were spoken to rudely. The process took absurdly long considering that she kept answering the phone for in depth conversations. The room itself was dirty and outdated! We expected much more for the high price. (Like clean bedspreads for one.) A "do not disturb" sign wasn't available and the maid woke us up long before we were ready to rise. And then knocked again, moments later. So rude!!! When we checked out, there were two bags of trash right beside our door. I went into the restaurant and grabbed a coffee to go. I waited for ten minutes before the server greeted me. Three dollars for a cup of lukewarm joe. Awful! The location is perfect. The air conditioner worked well. The grounds were well maintained. EVERYTHING else; a major disappointment! Stay anywhere, but here!

OK, I hate people that whine when staying in historic hotels about small rooms and old decor....but....this hotel could do better. This is really NOT an old structure. The wing we stayed in was rebuilt in 2003 after the quake. The decor was tired and old and worn - far beyond what it should look like only 6 years old, There were burn marks on the plastic framed art on the walls, patios and decks were dirty, not swept. The hot tub on the balcony had mineral deposits all over it and could be cleaned better, the heater in it only would get the tub up to 95 degrees which is not a hot springs temperature. They are billing this as a Spa room and charging a luxury price...but this is not a luxury room. If you are going to Paso it is a cool place to stay, very historic and all. The grounds are beautiful, the restaurant good and nice people behind the desk. Don't expect a luxury experience though. Maybe just book a regular room.
