New property, nice large room but @150/night (cheapest room) you would expect breakfast to actually be edible. Come on step it up La Quinta!

Stayed here twice as part of a "wine country" visit to Paso Robles....located on HWY 46 E, convenient to down town and local wineries, the price is reasonable, the people provide very good service and the facility is very nicely maintained. Additionally breakfast included and pet friendly.

My friends and I went to Paso Robles for Wine Harvest Weekend in October. It was a very busy weekend, so we pretty much dismissed the idea of getting a hotel at a reasonable price. We booked this hotel since it was the lowest price we found while still being somewhat close to downtown. We were not expecting much else besides a clean place to stay, but we were pleasantly surprised. This hotel is the nicest La Quinta I have stayed at, everything is new and modern, and the decor has a pleasant "wine country" feel for a chain hotel. When we arrived, we were upgraded to a suite, which was very spacious and had a kitchenette as well as a separate living area. While I realize it was random luck that we were upgraded, the hotel staff did seem to be above average with regard to friendliness and customer service during our stay. We did some wine tasting downtown in the late afternoon, and while technically it seemed the distance could be described as "a long walk", we opted for a taxi there and back, it was fairly cheap, and since it was quite warm that day, it was more comfortable than walking. So the hotel is somewhat convenient to downtown, but very close to the freeway, so it really depends on where you are going if it could be considered "central" or not. The breakfast at the hotel was great, it was nice to have the option of hot eggs, sausages, and waffles in addition to the cold cereal, bagels, etc. that are the norm at chain hotels. I would stay at this La Quinta in a heartbeat if I am in Paso Robles again.

The La Quinta Resorts can vary in terms of their overall quality but the Paso Robles location is excellent. A great value! The rooms are large, comfortable, and immaculate. It is also located convenient to local wineries and the highway. It's always tough to find a nice place to stay when we travel with our dog but the La Quinta is welcoming and has areas around the property to walk your dog and provides you with doo doo bags. The free breakfast, while not the best ever, is a nice bonus.
