I was not on vacation in Paso Robles, but passing through on vacation. For staying a few days, I'd never pick such a place, but it was quite adequate for overnight, and even had a fridge. With a coupon from one of the travel bargain books, it was absurdly cheap.

It isn't new and is showing its age, but it's decently maintained and has sort of a quaint feeling. The manager was not very fluent in English but was friendly enough. My room was set back from the street so it was quiet, and I felt safe taking an evening stroll around the block before bedtime. There were some odd people staying there and I don't know if they were travelers or long-time residents, but none of them seemed genuinely menacing.

The continental breakfast was nothing to rave about, but good grief, for $40 a night, I don't expect custom-made eggs Benedict and fresh fruit.

I had my doubts after the review left from the Londoner I wanted to find out for myself when a reunion came up and I needed a place in Paso Robles. What a relief, I found the rooms paint fresh and clean inside and out. The manager said it would be quiet and he was correct. Located near beautiful downtown Paso Robles with its old park, everything I wanted was nearby including access to the highway. The hospitality was friendly and warm, things you cannot pay for. Not a five star, but certainly worth the money spent with HBO, microwave, fridge and beautifully tiled bathroom. Conveniently located with private parking at your front door and with reasonable rates, I would recommend one of the cozy bungalows to my family or my friends. My stay was safe, comfortable and convenient. No need to say any more.. Thanks, Mike

OK, where to start!? We stayed here because other hotels along our road trip had pretty much blown our budget and we thought we should curb the spending a little- boy do I wish we'd just dug a little deeper in to our pockets!!! The room was cheap, but definately below average quality, with holes in the bed covers and towels, a general air of muckiness and the uneasy feeling that at any moment some random from the street might walk in. We were offered breakfast included in the price, but the lukewarm coffee and tray of pastries which looked like it had been pinched from the local bakery did not quite tempt me enough!
