“Nice location but the stay could have been better”

The inn's location was very convenient to downtown Paso Robles - that is by far the best thing about the Vine Street Inn. The room was ok, but a little dated in terms of the furniture and electronics. The room does have a kitchen, which was nice. However, the refrigerator and freezer contained food from months before we stayed there, some of which was far past its expiration date. Great location but the inn needs a lot of work to get back to what I think it once was.

“Definately Not Kitsch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2009

Our experience at the Vine Street Inn was fabulous. We wanted a get away for my birthday with a cozy atmosphere and that is what I received for my special day. The authentic antique Queen Anne furniture and artwork throughout the inn was delightful. Margot the innkeeper was so helpful with arrangements and made our reservations for dinner and also supplying free coupons for tours of the wineries. Came back to the inn after a long day at the coast to find afternoon fruit, cheese and wine served on the deck. Relaxed awhile then walked to dinner. I think it will be a repeat visit each year.

“A little kitch, but cool.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2009

The two best things about staying at the Vine Street Inn were that Margot gives you all the coupons you need to spend the day wine tasting for free... and she also feeds you an excellent cooked breakfast. The room itself was too frilly for my liking and there were so many pillows, quilts and cushions on the bed there was barely room for us. But we did get a private bathroom. You can come and go as you like from the inn, however the little dog will bark and alert everyone of your movements - so it's not quite an anonymous or private experience. The location was excellent - a short stroll to the town square and very easy street parking. Overall we really enjoyed the Inn and Margot's hospitality.

“Nice Little Inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 June 2009

We had a great time at the Vine Street Inn, and Margot (the innkeeper) was nice to have so many coupons available for local wineries. The breakfasts were yummy, warm, with many options. I'll definitely get some recipes from her website. The coffee was great. One note, we did have a rather unwelcoming welcome when we arrived early (we had previously arranged this by email) and surprised the innkeeper. But after some of the confusion settled she did apologise.

Our room was the TreeTop room, which had the MOST comfortable bed ever. The bathroom was a little small, but the furnishings and decoration were great. The inn inself was also beautifully decorated.

“Great bed & breakfast and great location, we'll be back!”

The Vine Street Inn was a beautiful and comfortable bed & breakfast. The beds were so comfortable that everyone slept great. The house was immaculate and decorated in an antique victorian style. The grounds were beautiful flowering gardens and smelled amazing. Margot, the owner and innkeeper, was a wonderful hostess and cook. In the afternoons she had wine and other beverages and snacks and her breakfasts were delicious and out of the ordinary, with items like creme brulee french toast, and ginger peach apricot cobbler. She was so willing to accomodate all our requests. The location of the inn was great too. It was no more than a 10 minute walk to the downtown Paso Robles area and was in a quiet, historic home area. While there was no health club or spa on site, Margot provided us with free passes to the Kennedy Health Club/Serenity Spa which was a 5 minute drive and was the best club we had ever been to. I will be staying here again if I make it back to Paso!
