“An amazing insight to real Cali life”

I cannot thank Ann and George enough for their incredible hospitality in their beautiful house.
It's a great place to relax whether you want to take in some California sun (even in November!), visit the local wineries for some tastings, go hiking around the stunning scenery or just meet the resident tree climbing goats. The Firestone brewery is also worth a visit which is just down the road.
George always provided an amazing breakfast for everyone and by the time we were done eating and sharing stories it was time for lunch!
My personal highlight was sitting in the garden at midnight watching the shooting stars darting across the night sky - something I would never see in London.
Thank you so much, Ann, George and Roxy the dog for an amazing stay - I'll sure to be back!

“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2011

My sister and I came to visit Paso Robles and Hearst Castle in October (it's taken me a little time to write a review) and we stayed with Ann and George. I cannot overstate what a wonderful time we had. It was one of our best trips - mostly due to the fabulous stay we had their lovely B&B. Both Ann and George are so personable and friendly. It felt like visiting family (without the drama). The rooms are very comfortable, the food is great and the view is magnificent. It is very conveniently located to go wine tasting and to visit Hearst Castle. It is so peaceful there - we will definitely be back! Thanks Ann and George!

“What can we say about Ann and Georges B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

Location: -Stunningly set on top of a hill several miles from the nearest paved road with views from the deck across their own vineyards to the distant hills.

Rooms: - Comfortable, beautifully furnished, with lots of personal touches.

Food: - A tray of cheeses, crackers and fruit plus wine on arrival, replenished every day. A cooked breakfast is available as well as fruit and homemade cereal, plenty to eat and it sets you up for the day. In fine weather this is served on the deak, breakfast with the view to match. On our final morning Ann thoughtfully packed the remainder of our cheese/crackers/fruit with a bag of ice to keep it all cool for our lunch - there was plenty.

For dinner, Paso Robles (about 10 miles) has lots of opportunities for fine dinning: ask Ann and George for their recommendations. We liked Thomas Hill Organics and Artisan.

What to do: - If you are into wine then Paso Robles has a variety of small vineyards that are open for wine tasting and the wines are excellant. For a change from wine tasting try Herst Castle. This is a 35 mile drive over the hills on the CA-46 and then north on the CA-1. We found it a very strange place but well worth the visit.

Our hosts: - Ann and George are gracious; they treat you as friends/family. We could have spent a whole day talking with them. Ann took a photo of us sitting on a bench with the view of their vineyard as a backdrop - we will treasure it. It will be a permanent reminder of our all too short a stay with them.

Will we be back: - You bet, as soon as possible!

“The experience will last a lifetime. Nothing beats a home cook meal and a conversation.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

We came here for our two year anniversary. The city of Paso Robles is great, wine tasting was magnificent, dinner at amazing restaurants. Nothing beats the experience of a wonderfully cooked breakfast from George and the conversations with Ann. From the first day you step into their home and when you leave. There is something you will take from the experience of knowing two of the most amazing people in the world. They have a dog and a cat roaming around the house. Please keep in mind, my wife and I are both allergic to cats but we loved the atmosphere so much we just managed through it. I highly recommend Ann and George's B&B to anyone who wants to get away. The instant you step into their house, you are family. There is no price to that experience.

“an unforgettable experience!”

If you want to get away from urban noise and stress, find a charming place to stay as you go winetasting on Paso Robles' Westside, meet two friendly and helpful hosts, and discover the rustic, rural atmosphere of the central coast, try out Ann and George's B&B!

The most dazzling part of their B&B is the spectacular location. Tucked far into the rolling hills southwest of Paso Robles, the B&B overlooks acres of vineyards (also owned by Ann & George) and is blessed with a panoramic view of the valley below. Without any neighbors to speak of and far from city lights, you also get breathtaking starry vistas on clear nights, all to the sounds of crickets chirping and owls hooting. You can enjoy this on the backyard patio, whether on the little benches on the grass or lounging on chairs by the crackling fire pit, sipping a complimentary bottle of wine (Ann gave us a bottle of 2009 syrah from Justin Vineyards). You can look forward to waking up to the twittering of birds in the morning, not the rumble of passing trucks. And if you're here in Paso for winetasting, you're in luck - the B&B is located right among all those new boutique wineries that have been sprouting along nearby Vineyard Drive and West Highway 46!

The B&B itself is gorgeous and new, in a house less than 10 years old with all the amenities of modern living (Wifi, air conditioning, LED lighting, none of the electrical or plumbing issues you might get in an older place). We were in the upstairs loft atop the garage, which was spacious, wonderfully furnished and cozily decorated in the way only an older couple with decades of family memorabilia can. We slept in a very comfortable bed and enjoyed a complimentary cheese and fruit dessert plate every evening in addition to the excellent multi-course breakfasts! Ann & George take care of every little detail, like leaving a winestopper and bottle opener on the tray with wine glasses, or having cute little books to read in the bathroom, or leaving filter paper in the room's coffeemaker, or a very well stocked refrigerator for our own use. If the weather's good, you can even count on breakfast served outdoors on that spectacular backyard patio!

And of course, Ann & George (and their dog and cat!) are the best! Ann is vivacious and friendly and talkative, and happy to help with any part of your stay, like having coupons for free winetastings, or where to find good wineries or restaurants to visit. George is just as friendly (if a little more quiet) and makes great breakfasts! We had delicious french toast and fresh-baked scones, along with fresh fruit, juices and coffee, scrambled eggs, crunchy bacon and sausages. Be sure to ask them about the local winemakers - Ann & George know many of them personally, having sold them grapes, and it's so much fun to hear stories about the people behind Paso's more famous wineries!

Just one word of caution - Ann & George's is located on a little dirt road a few miles off the nearest paved street, so be sure to follow the directions posted on their website, watch carefully for their strategically-placed signs to direct you, and if at all possible try to get there before nightfall the first time you arrive. Aside from that, if you can get a room at Ann & George's, do it - you have a truly unforgettable B&B experience!
