The location of this hotel is perfect for the Rose Bowl festivities, especially if you're a walker; we walked to both the parade and after that, the game. After I booked the hotel, I checked reviews on Tripadvisor and found a number of bad reviews. Since our son, daughter-in-law and several friends had also booked rooms here, I was a bit apprehensive. But it was fine! The location, as I said, was great, the beds were comfortable, and the rooms were nicely decorated. Breakfast was good, and the people who worked at the desk were very pleasant and accommodating. A Japanese restaurant down the street had people waiting outside and is supposed to be very good, although we didn't eat there. We did eat several times at Acapulco, a Mexican restaurant about a block away from the Super 8, and it was excellent; I highly recommend it. Conveniently nearby are a Target, a post office, and Walgreen's. I'm not sure why some people gave it a bad review, although their experience seemed to be different than ours. It's not a luxury hotel and doesn't claim to be, but we would certainly stay here again if we came back to Pasadena.
