“Great location for Rose Bowl parade and game”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

This is not a 4 star hotel by any means, and the prices were jacked up during the Rose Bowl with a 3 night minimum. But all in all, for a family of four coming from two different locations and meeting at the hotel at 2am the morning of the Rose Bowl, it worked out pretty well. The room was large, had 2 queens, an adequate bathroom, a really small table and 2 chairs, mini frig and microwave and TV. Seemed pretty clean, but we really just used the hotel as a place to park, stash our stuff, grab a shower and head out to the parade and game. It is about 4 blocks from the Rose Bowl parade route, and although we took a shuttle to the football game, the line was so long after the game that we walked back to the hotel - not a short walk, but doable.
Side note - i booked this thru hotels.com for 2 nights. They called me back after confirming my reservation and charging my credit card and told me that the hotel says it is a 3 night minimum. I told them sorry, their fault for letting me book 2 nights and after several hours of back and forth, Hotels.com picked up the third night. Wasnt a pleasant experience, but worked out ok in the end.

Room Tip: We had a corner room with window facing Arroyo Grande. We kept the window shut, but the street nois...

“Never Again”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

I'll try not to be biased. I was raised in Pasadena and my kids were born there and we go often to visit. I thought we'd try this hotel for once and never again...No coffee in the room; old fashioned TV; no blackout curtains and the parking lot lights are bright. The woman serving continental breakfast forbade us from bringing food to the room due to 'sanitary reasons' yet they have a microwave in the room! We didn't try it so it must not have been functioning. Small rooms are pooly layed out due to a very small building space. Parking was problematic for the same reason.... enough said, we'll never go there again.

“Terrible Customer Service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

I stayed at this hotel for just one night and that was enough to find out that they offer a horrible customer service. They provide a free continental breakfast but the lady who works in that section was rude and had an attitude. I was told that I could not use a waffle maker in a very rude way. I do not understand why they have a waffle machine on, if they are not offering any waffles. Their eating area was too cold during the morning and they only had one or two small heaters. The temperature that morning was 35 degrees. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I would rather pay more somewhere else and get better customer service. I think a cheap motel probably provides a better customer service than the Pasadena Inn.

“Nice that it's all non-smoking, but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

The positives: The whole place is non-smoking. wi-fi connection worked perfectly the entire three days (this is so much more rare than it should be). Rooms clean and quiet, refrigerator and microwave in room. Staff unusally friendly and courteous. Make your own waffles at breakfast.

Criticisms: moldy smell coming out of fan and bathtub wouldn't drain (staff immediately provided another room). squeaky bathroom door (staff immediately fixed it with some oil heavier than WD-40). No garbage can in bathrooms (what the hey?). Continental breakfast was a little meager, and the orange juice and cranberry juice were basically colored water. Also, packaged danishes instead of real, fresh donuts.

This place beats a Motel 6 by a long shot, but it's no Hilton (except for the superior staff)

“Excellent Value - Enjoyed out stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

A friend & I stayed here while attending a conference at the convention center. The location was perfect. We left the car parked and had an enjoyable walk to the conference each day. The parking was free & easy. Whole Foods is across the street for excellent casual dining. The room was spacious & clean, though rather basic. The staff was extremely helpful. The hotel is located conveniently to downtown Pasadena and freeway access.

Room Tip: We had room 221 - located in the corner, with no room above us. It was very quiet.
