If visiting Stanford, nice renovated room at a good price. I will be back again.

We had to stay in the Palo Alto area quite a bit during this past summer and we chose to stay at the Days Inn in Palo Alto for all of those stays. Due to a family medical situation we had to find an economical as well as a convenient lodging while visiting and attending to matters at Stanford University and we chose this Days Inn because of past positive experiences with this chain as well as this property's close proximity to the Stanford campus. All we can say is a big "Thank You" to the nice people who managed and ran this property. This an older but impeccably kept up property. The staff were initially formal but always very cordial and as we kept returning for three to four days each week during an approximate two and a half month period (mid-July to September) the managers and staff got to know us and we them. Each time we checked-in we were greeted warmly and made to feel as much at home as one could expect under the circumstances.
The rooms are well maintained and the beds are very comfortable. The free WiFi was very important as we had to continue working while we were staying there. There was always adequate parking and there are several very good and reasonably priced restaurants within walking or short driving distance from the motel. Speaking of food, we got used to rummaging through the little snack basket in each room every time we checked-in. We were often very excited to find our favorite commercial brand of chocolate chip cookies!
If the occasion arises where we need to stay in Palo Alto we won't hesitate to visit and stay at The Days Inn-Palo Alto.

The best way I can describe this is that is a very functional hotel. For a bargain price, you get a bargain hotel with the minimum needed for a good nights sleep. You get a clean sheets, a bed, a small room, and no frills really. The location is very convenient to Stanford.

Be prepared with your money up front. In an interesting twist, unlike other hotels, the owners require guests to pre-pay their entire stay. It appears the owners are worried about people skipping out at these bargain prices.

The rooms are small, but clean. The bathrooms are modern. My room smelled very musty, but opening a window for an hour fixed that quickly, and let in the lovely California air.

The provided "continental breakfast" is a decent tray of packaged cookies, pastries, granola bars, juice boxes, and the like, with a coffee machine. There is no "hot breakfast", but there are plenty of restaurants nearby.

My family visited the Stanford campus, and Days Inn Palo Alto is located just minutes from the campus. The staff was courteous and the rooms were clean. Moreover, the hotel offers excellent value compared to other hotels in the area.
