“Not too bad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

It seems to be an older hotel that they've really worked on. I was worried having a street & freeway facing room, but it was quiet enough on a Saturday night and we slept well without interruption. The beds were very comfortable. The room looked to have all new furniture and a redone bathroom. The tub needed some work, but the showerhead was awesome. We needed extra towels & they brought them without hesitation. They provided complimentary slippers in the rooms. The free breakfast was a feast and very tasty. We didn't go in the pool, but it looked nice, clean, with plenty of room around it to relax.

If you're going for soccer, it's just off the freeway, so you can jump on & off to get to the fields. Also, they have a laundry room. There's a grocery store close by, and you're away from the craziness & traffic of all the restaurants.

Negatives: the rooms are pretty small, elevator was slow and opened on all floors almost every time (we were on the 4th floor, so that was annoying), one lady at the front desk was super rude (all others were super nice & made up for her), the closed Denny's in front of the hotel made the 1st impression terrible and worrisome.

“Terrible!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Dirty & Loud, Pictures on-line are photo shopped. The pictures do not truly represent what the hotel looks like.

Front desk not accommodating at all. We heard the front desk arguing with a customer very unprofessional!! Will not be returning to the hotel ever!

The only reason why this is getting a 1 star rating is because of the free breakfast.

Do NOT stay at this hotel. Too expensive for what you get.

Room Tip: Go Somewhere Else.

“Horrible service, room, and outdated”

We get there before check in and the front desk immediately assumed we were walk-ins and said they were booked. Then, when we said we had reservations, it seemed like they were doing us a favor and that we were going to get walked over to another hotel chain (Red Roof Inn). We said that we would have just booked there if that was the case. Instead, they gave me a room for handicap next to the elevator. Three times the key card did not work. I was accused of demagnitizing the cards with my cellphone, which was not the case. Lo and behold, something was wrong with the door reader and it was quite awkward to have their maintenance staff change out the door reader with my room door proped open, while I was Facetiming my husband and kids, while hotel guests going in and out of the elevator saw my entire room and me. Definitely disconcerting and awkward moment at 9PM. I did not sleep a wink because of the elevators and it's ancillary systems, running all night. Breakfast was another story. No one told us to pick up a voucher in the front desk, prior to us sitting ourselves in the small diner. An inconvenience to leave your booth and walk over to obtain the voucher. Upon check-out, it was interesting that the front desk not once asked how our stay was... I wonder why. LOL!

Room Tip: Only stay here if everything else is booked.

“Rooms are fine - Rob was courteous, helpful - Jennifer NOT”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

I purchased a weekend stay at The Palmdale Hotel as a present to my son, his wife and three daughters who were attending a soccer championship. I'm in Florida and arranged payment by telephone on Friday with Rob at the front desk who faxed an authorization form to me. I completed the form as required, faxed it back to Rob and subsequently confirmed receipt of the form and a copy of my credit card. Rob received the form and credit card copyand my son's family was booked into a nice room. Everything seemed fine until Sunday morning when I received a telephone call from my son who sounded frantic at checkout . The on duty front desk clerk Jennifer said she could not find the authorization form or the credit card copy that was received on Friday. I was concerned over the hotel losing my credit card info but the only option was to refax the same info to her again. I faxed the forms three times and each time Jennifer claimed they arrived blank, despite being received correctly on Friday. After the third attempt she basically accused me of faxing blank pages and pushed the pages in front of my son's face essentially calling me a liar. Please remember that I'm on the cell phone talking with my son as we attempt to resolve the missing credit card issue and refaxing the info again. I could hear everything over the cell phone that was transpiring and overheard other people, possibly customers, comment about Jennifer's rudeness. After fifteen minutes of faxing and refaxing and trying to find out what happened to my original authorzation and credit card copies things on that end in Palmdale seemed to get out of hand. My son became irritated with Jennifer and she in turn threatened to call the sheriff. She screamed that she would charge my son's credit card that was on file prior to my offer to purchase the weekend present for the family. she told him to get out, would not give my son a receipt and locked the doors to his room so he, my daughter-in-law and three grandkids could not get their luggage and personal items out of the room. Fortunately they came across a maintenance man who apologized for the inconvenience and let them into the room. The packed their bags and left. I called Palmdale Hotel and asked to speak to the manager. Jennifer answered and said there is no manager on duty and to call back Monday. I contacted the sheriff's office in Palmdale over concern about my credit card info that was missing. I later contacted American Express.
I suspect you will probably see several other bad reviews about the rude, bad attitude and poor customer service by Jennifer. One of the soccer team members moms said she was a manager for Montgomery Wards for 22 years, knows customer service and said Jennifer was the worst case of bad customer service she ever experienced. Several other customers were allegedly overcharged for rooms and others were charged extra for breakfasts they believed were included in the package.

“Left after one night”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Pics and description make this seem like a nice place. I found it to be very disappointing.
First the front desk watched me struggle in with three bags thru a non-automatic door, didn't help me find a closer parking spot to my room then watched me struggle through a second set of doors to the next hallway.
In room...
Poor fluorescent lighting
Window was left open before check-in so room was about 45 degrees when I walked in.
Room was clean but certainly "worn out"
Even with window closed room was quite cold. Heater was very loud and blankets were paper thin. I had a terrible sleep before an all day conference the next day.
The woman running the AM breakfast was the best thing about the stay. She was very nice and provided great service.
