“Nice pool - not a lot of shade”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

I was at the Colony Palms in September and it was super hot out. There was not enough shaded loungers at the pool to go around and there were no extra unbrellas. You had to wake up very early if you wanted a lounger in the shade. The pool is beautiful though, great temperature. The Purple Palm is nice, right next to the pool and the wait service is attentive, you wont go hungry or thirsty. The food was okay, nothing great. They do have baskets of towels and cold water next to the pool which is awesome. The room was nicely furnished and spacious enough to be comfortable. The bath products were nice also, CO Bigelow. A good tip - you dont have to always valet the car in the front. There is some parking around the back of the hotel.

“Fine place, great staff”

We stayed for a few days in January. Good location (you can walk to the main part of the downtown shopping/restaurant area) and superb staff -- attentive but not excessively so. The rooms were well-appointed and comfortable. The pool and sitting area around it were pleasant. Bonus was the breakfast by the pool -- very good at a relatively (to resort hotels) reasonable price. And the free coffee urn was ready by 6 a.m., just in time to see the dawn light up the ridges nearby.

Room Tip: They cost a bit more (though we were using a Groupon) but #20 and #25 are more space and somewhat is...

“Great for a romantic getaway”

The Colony Palms is a beautiful little hideaway. I recommend splurging on one of the casitas if you can swing it. The outdoor living room is awesome. Great staff, quiet and beautiful property. Our meals were good (not GREAT but good) and the bartender pours some generous cocktails! Overall, a really nice property in a town with lots of competition for traveler's dollars. The Parker is stunning and glamorous, the Ace is fun and funky - the Colony Palms is much more sedate and low-key than either of those and struck the perfect balance for us since we just wanted to relax and enjoy some down time without any "scene" at the pool or the restaurant. Great stay.

Room Tip: Casita 4 was awesome!

“Great Hotel!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

We stayed at this hotel for two nights during our three-week roundtrip at the west coast. This hotel was amazing.....especially the pool/Jacuzzi and the outdoor area in general. Actually the best hotel during the complete journey.

The room and the spacious bath room was very comfortable. A nice plus - free coffee at the bar close to the pool. We will definetely be back!

“Wonderful, Relaxing and Unique”

W've stayed at a lot of hotels in Palm Springs and this is definitely one of the best. Beautiful, intimate Morroccan-inspired environment. Nice pool and not too much of a scene. Pretty room with awesome C.O. Bigelow bath products- the best and straight from NYC! Great restaurant and we loved that it was right on the pool. A few fire pits scattered about and relaxing music also gave the experience a special touch. We will definitely be back!!!
