“Great location, beautiful pool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

The huge pool is the star of this resort with its warm water, nearby whirlpool and beautiful flowers. The mountain scenery is gorgeous. There are many restaurants just a couple blocks away. Convenience is important and the location allowed us to get by without renting a car. An added plus was that the hotel paid for transportation to and from the Palm Springs airport.

Now, this is an older hotel but as long as you expect that, it should be fine. The building is older but clean and comfortable. There is a refrigerator and microwave and the beds are very comfortable. The balcony has partitions between the rooms instead of separate balconies but we got used to that.

It is just a couple blocks from the Palm Springs Art Center which is definitely worth a visit. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would stay here again.

“Relaxing break in a lovely location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We had a family leisure break in the hotel. Great location in the middle of town - very relaxing as it was easy to travel out of the city and we also enjoyed the (heated) outdoor pool. Rooms are good, though a bit tired, but soundproofing is reasonable so a good nights sleep is possible. The hotel has no restaurant - breakfast vouchers were provided at a nearby diner. Although the continental breakfast (as advertised when we booked with British Airways) was meagre with hot drink + juice + a piece of bread, on discussion with the hotel Manager (David), we kindly received vouchers for something more reasonable to sustain us and our children. To avoid this issue, we'd suggest booking directly with the hotel rather than via British Airways (as we had done) - the hotel provided originally what they had agreed with BA.

Overall it was a lovely stay and we would return in the future if nearby.

“Affordable and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Was impressed with the Palm Mountain Resort. Had room near the pool, which was very convenient.
NIce pool and jacuzzi. One block from main st, with many restaurants, within walking distance.
King bed in the room was comfortable. Airport shuttle was great, and took me back to the airport the next day to pick up my rental car.

Room Tip: Get room on the first floor, near the pool

“Great location and price, so don't expect a luxury resort room.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

I stayed here the day after Xmas as they had an excellect special for under $100 a night. It was by far one of the most affordable room rates. The location was great and within walking distance to many restaurants, coffee shops and bars. I liked this location because it is only a 20 minute drive to the Cabazon outlet stores, and is less than a 5 minute drive to the Palm Springs Tram to go up the mountain.

Just don't expect to be getting a luxurious resort hotel room, and you will be just fine. The room was pretty dark. Strange that the shower doesn't have a light in it, so you literally have to leave the shower curtain cracked open so that you can see what you're doing! There's a balcony, but there's not a full wall separating the balconies from each room, so someone can literally walk up to your balcony bedroom window if they were inclined to do so.

Overall I had a good experience and would recommend this place if you're on a budget and don't care about having a fancy room.

“BEST SPOT IN DOWNTOWN”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

The Palm Mountain Resort has the very best location (just steps to downtown), the very best pool (it's enormous, with plenty of umbrellas/lounges and towels and a big jacuzzi), and the very best staff (everybody is so efficient and friendly). Check their website for great prices -- and book early because they often sell out. No surprise there.

Room Tip: All the Garden Rooms ae superb, upgrade to a higher floor for great views.
