“Old-school charm in the heart of P.S.”

Stayed here last weekend for my daughter’s cheer competition. This is a very good hotel in a great location. Once you get over the fact that Palm Springs is basically comprised of buildings with 1950’s-70’s era architecture, you can see the quaintness of this hotel within that context. It reminded me of the Brady Bunch with the low facades, central courtyard w/pool and palms, and dated stylishness. The room was large with a nice sized balcony overlooking the pool area, perfect for enjoying a cocktail while star-gazing through the palm trees. Where else can you do that on a winter night? Location is one street off the main strip, one block from a Starbucks, & one block from the Convention Center, making it convenient to walk there and leave the car parked. The on-site bar and restaurant were adequate and not crowded. Beds were cozy and comfortable. The only complaint was the old boxy TV, but we didn’t watch it much and it went with the 70’s style of the place. For Palm Springs, you can’t do much better than this quaint old-school Hilton.

“one night stay - lg rooms”

We booked this hotel through bidding on Priceline, and was disappointed when we got this. But when we arrived, check in was fast, and they charged $14 for parking (or resort fee).
Hotel was not busy, the pool area is clean and lots of lounge chairs. The water felt warm and had a 10 man hot tub. The room was large compared to other hotels we have been used to. King size bed.The room and bathroom are clean. Yes could do with upgraded TV if you are staying longer and have kids. Close to everything. You must try out Shermans Deli across the street for their rueben sandwiches and desserts!! Since I got a good rate, I would not pay the regular price for this resort.

“A great deal for the Palm Springs Film Festival!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

The Hilton Palm Springs is a great place to stay if you are attending the Palm Springs Film Festival. It is right across the street from the Festival's main venue and close to all the downtown restaurants and the casino. The hotel grounds are nicely landscaped and the rooms spacious. Plenty of parking (extra fee) is available. My only complaint was that the special room rate quoted on the Festival website does not include a mandatory "resort fee" of $20+/night. Since we spent all our time at the Festival, the resort fee did not provide any value for us.

Room Tip: If you are a Hilton Silver VIP you get some very good upgrades. East side rooms are closest to Fest...

“Decent hotel, huge rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Really large rooms, could do with some updating, must be really nice in good weather. Staff were quite helpful too. If you like large spacious rooms this is the place for you.

“Close to it all, a little long in the tooth.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

This is a great place to stay if you need to be close to the action. A block from the strip and right in the mix of what's happening. Great pool area and grounds. Good sized rooms and good amenities as far as food, business area, and odds and ends. It is an older hotel and shows it. Older furnishings, older televisions, old grout in the bathrooms, flaking stucco, and worn carpeting. And worst of all, self parking with a daily fee. Or, of course, valet parking for even more. Here's a hint, park on the street, it's free in a lot of areas right next to the hotel. Wi-fi works well and all over the complex. Other lower rated hotels are newer and offer amenities like parking for free but may be three blocks away instead of one. It's your choice, but still a nice, if not a great place.
