“Cosy Boutique”

My friends and I stayed here last April, when we came out for Coachella. The rooms were large and clean, with very comfortable beds. Our room opened right out to the pool and had a nice kitchen as well. If I weren't travelling back for the festival with such a large group, I'd be staying there again.

Quiet and off the main strip of Palm Springs, but close enough to be convenient. Very friendly staff.

“Bring Your Own Bread to Breakfast!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

Our room was large with a view of the parking lot and an extremely unpleasant area which our host referred to as "your terrace."

The room was otherwise comfortable except for a mattress so firm that it woke me up when I turned over at night.

Our room had lots of things we didn't need (sixteen pillows, a dozen ceramic pots, a large kitchen area) but it lacked several things we usually find in good places, such as an adequate and convenient place for toiletries in the bathroom, toilet paper located in an easy-to-reach location, a comfortable mattress, and an adequate closet.

At breakfast we were offered delicious apples (which we don't eat), one green pear (which nobody could eat), and three or four satsumas. Noticing a toaster, I asked the housekeeper where to find bread. She came up with an answer I haven't heard in many decades of travel, "You have to bring your own bread."

I believe rooms around the pool (especially #7 and #8) may provide a more satisfying experience.

Room Tip: Don't book room #1.

“Great Value Here”

My wife and I have stayed here many times over the years and keep going back. Pros: Clean rooms and close to airport. Walking distance to downtown P.S. but still on a quiet street. Rooms have kitchenettes so can keep costs down. Coffee, fruit, etc. available in common area. Pool and chairs available for relaxation. The hosts, Larry and Ed are great with much knowledge of area. Cons: Not much to say. Maybe not close to the 'action'. Being close to mountains mean pool area in shade by late afternoon. But in hot times that's a good thing. Being a small hotel means book early. Closets are small so pack light.

Room Tip: Eight rooms available. #1 and #2 are largest with fireplaces but furthest from pool and there could...

“Cozy, nice location, but needs a few things”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We stayed just two nights and would have gladly stayed more. There is a fine attention to most details and Larry who owns the places was extraordinarily helpful. Be prepared for a room full of clutter, most cheap nick-knacks and yard-sale goodies, but the huge bed was extremely comfortable, after thirteen pillows were removed. I would have greatly appreciated a high-def TV instead of the 20-year-old tiny TV in the room. The pool was OK.

“Cosy, friendly hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

Great, quaint little inn. Larry, Ed and Theresa are awesome. Anything you want to know about the area, they most likely can tell you. Larry gave me most of the restaurant suggestions, and they were all pretty good. Everyone else reviewing this inn, said sleep quality was great. I have to say otherwise, as I'm a picky sleeper. Bed and pillow were a bit on the hard side. Got a bit of noise at times, as #1 room is in the front of the inn. Super quiet at night though, between about 11pm to 7:30am. The coffee serving area was right behind the room, and there was a bit of noise starting about 7:30 as the coffee was set up. Then around 8am, there's this slight mechanical hum, not sure what it was. I'd stay there again, but maybe pick a room towards the back of the inn.

Room Tip: Room number 1 is very nice, but it's right at the front entrance, get a bit of noise at times.
