My partner and I visited the Desert House Inn for two nights in October as part of a tour of California. What a wonderful place - our room wasn't big but very cosy which is what you expect when booking a B&B. We stayed just before Halloween and were greeted with a small basket of chocolate and candy in our room together with a variety of muffins and cold drinks. The location is excellent and we didn't experience any road noise at all as mentioned by a previous reviewer. The pool was wonderful and it was a delight to chill out and watch the hummingbirds. We would definitely stay here again. Well done Doug and Donna.

My husband and I have been visiting Palm Springs for over ten years. In 2002, we discovered the Desert House and have stayed there ever since. You will not find more wonderful hosts than Doug and Donna, the owners of Desert House. Each time we visit, we feel we are greeted by true friends.

The six rooms are spacious and comfortable, most with kitchenettes and a patio out back. They are arranged in a single story "u" shaped building with a pool and courtyard in the center. The rooms have dutch doors, which is a nice touch, especially when you want to let the cool desert air in during the evening. The location is one block from Palm Canyon Drive, where you can shop, eat or just people watch. We prefer to just lay by the pool and stare up at the magnificent mountain view.

Doug and Donna are always ready with tips on where to eat, shop or go hiking. We truly enjoy every visit to the Desert House. Our favorite room is #3 which has a king size bed and a sitting area by the window overlooking the pool.

My wife and I spent the second week of March at the Desert House. The room was comfortable and clean, the kitchenette was well-equipped, and the pool and gardens were wonderful. The hosts were very gracious and eager to help with our dining, horseback riding, and hiking plans. A truly excellent little oasis at the center of Palm Springs.

Such a charming Inn. Doug and Donna are very informative, caring hosts. A wonderful attention to detail in each of the rooms, pool and especially the gardens. Walking distance to dowtown to great restaurants and shopping is a plus. We look forward to returning to hike some of the local trails. We highly recommend this "jewel in the desert".
