I was in Palm Springs to help support a charity event, which booked the room for two nights for me. Usually, we only get the room for one night, so I made a point of verifying at the front desk that the room was for both nights, and even agreed to pay separately for the second night if needed. I have had 5 back surgeries, so I needed to make certain I had a room after doing volunteer work all day, from around 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM. They assured me I did not need to pay the second night because it was already covered. After the event I headed back to my room, very tired and ready to sit in the pool and relax. The key worked, but someone else was in my room and started screaming at me for coming in. Back at the front desk, the same lady that assured me I had the room for two nights was useless in her help. She only kept repeating that it was not her fault and that all their rooms were full. I came in on a motorcycle and had extra supplies with me to help in the event. I had more than just my stuff in the room so in the dark, I had to pack the motorcycle using straps and duct tape to keep my suitcase and stuff on the top of my back seat and trunk rack. I did manage another hotel nearby, around 10:00 PM. (They promised to call confirm room space at affiliate hotel, but did not even do that. I did pay for the second night, with no help from the first hotel, even though I found out they had the same owner) Several towels were grey and overall this one was way below a Motel 6. Would I stay there again. Not for pay and not for free.
