“Great place for Palm Canyon Dr”

Stayed here before and came back. It gets busy so make a reso- we had several rooms for several nights and we liked it. Cleanest pool on PCD...a lovely, quiet courtyard that's off the main street and has hummingbirds and tables to sit and relax or read. Rooms were average size and were clean-except motel carpets r never clean enuff to me! Fridges and microwaves in all our rooms.Good tv-lots of channels.a/c works and housekeepers were good. Close to downtown and u don't see shady characters hanging around! The owners were quite nice and always asking how we liked everything... Don't know about pets though- u would have to call...

“This place is not too bad, its nice.”

Ok, I stayed her this past weekend. It was a busy three day weekend. It was a last minute booking. Most of the larger "name brand" hotels were booked up. So I stayed here not expecting too much based on the few reviews. I was very surprised. The clerks that checked me in were funny. Gabe has a very dry sense of humor...he trys hard to make light of everything. If you are not ready or take him serious you might be offened. He is just like that. He provided me with a nice room over looking the pool. He qyickly called for a cab and he provided an iron in about 2 minutes after the request. The rooms are worth what I paid. Its not a luxury hotel but at least it was clean and I felt safe. I will stay here again. Oh the breakfast is just danishes and tang.
Oh the hotel is just past the other hotel strip area. About half a mile. But its close enough.

“Not the worst place I've stayed, but it's pretty close.”

I'll start with the Pros: the TV and AC worked (although they were very old), there was good water pressure in the shower, and I got a decent night's sleep in the bed.

Cons: There was a funny chlorine-ish smell about the room, the paint on the floor of the shower was badly chipped, the shower in general had rust around it, there was a mysterious brown stain on my sheets, the walls were paper thin, so we could hear everything the loud, drunk girls next door were saying all night and there was hair on the towels (which also looked very old and threadbare). The guy at the front desk got us different ones, but he was visibly unhappy about it.

Conclusion: This is the epitome of the "seedy motel room." Don't stay here. It wasn't at all worth what we paid. If I could do it over again, I would have gladly spent a little more to stay in a nicer place.

“They rented out my room for the second night of a two night stay.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2011

I was in Palm Springs to help support a charity event, which booked the room for two nights for me. Usually, we only get the room for one night, so I made a point of verifying at the front desk that the room was for both nights, and even agreed to pay separately for the second night if needed. I have had 5 back surgeries, so I needed to make certain I had a room after doing volunteer work all day, from around 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM. They assured me I did not need to pay the second night because it was already covered. After the event I headed back to my room, very tired and ready to sit in the pool and relax. The key worked, but someone else was in my room and started screaming at me for coming in. Back at the front desk, the same lady that assured me I had the room for two nights was useless in her help. She only kept repeating that it was not her fault and that all their rooms were full. I came in on a motorcycle and had extra supplies with me to help in the event. I had more than just my stuff in the room so in the dark, I had to pack the motorcycle using straps and duct tape to keep my suitcase and stuff on the top of my back seat and trunk rack. I did manage another hotel nearby, around 10:00 PM. (They promised to call confirm room space at affiliate hotel, but did not even do that. I did pay for the second night, with no help from the first hotel, even though I found out they had the same owner) Several towels were grey and overall this one was way below a Motel 6. Would I stay there again. Not for pay and not for free.
