My wife and I recently had the pleasure of trying out the newly-opened La Maison hotel in Palm Springs ([--] or [--]) and what a wonderful experience it was! A most welcome and unique exception to the seemingly endless rows of “boutique hotels” in that storied dessert city, La Maison delivers on its promise to evoke the south of France – a quiet, peaceful garden setting, tastefully appointed rooms, period furniture, and feather beds with down duvets. And wait until you taste the freshly-baked scones and croissants served with espresso – c’est magnifique!

We have stayed at the owners’ previous property – the much praised Sky Valley Inn on Saltspring Island in British Columbia (read the outstanding reviews!) – and Richard and Cornelia have brought the same brand of dedicated hospitality to their Palm Springs venture. Always attentive, yet never intrusive, their goal is to provide a restful, stress-free environment where you can unwind and indulge in your every pleasure.

Recently renovated and updated, centrally located and reasonably priced, La Maison offers excellent value and a truly grand holiday experience.
