“Last Minute Get-away Great Relaxing Time”

Origianlly we were going to the snow then with lack of snow decided Friday night to book a Hotwire hotel in Palm Springs a long weekend. Ended up with a $79 per night deal for the Hyatt in downtown Palm Springs (parking is $15 and resort is $20 per day on top). What a great long weekend, the weather was warm, we had a balcony overlooking the main street, king suite with amenities and everything was within walking distance including the casino. The hotel location is perfect, we did not eat or dine here because of the many choices on the street and the street is where all the fun is.

Room Tip: If you like to the main street traffic, people watching (which we enjoyed) and the morning sun chose...

One thing we all need in this busy world of ours is a little R&R every now and then....and I'm so happy to hear that you were able to relax and have a great time while staying with us. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with this site. Come back and see us soon...we are opening a new patio with great food, drink and entertainment.

“Great Location to enjoy Palm Springs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

My wife and I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Palm Springs over the MLK holiday and enjoyed our stay. Upon check-in we were given a free upgrade from the city view room I had booked to a golfcourse/mountain view room. It is always nice having a suite with a separate living room.

The highlight of our stay was getting an invite to the party for the Palm Springs Film Festival. It was a large affair that filled the restaurant in the atrium area, the bar, and the pool. Rather than dealing with those that might complain about this takeover of the hotel's public areas, the management wisely invited the guests to join the festivities. I was a bit skeptical of this blanket invitation, and was pleased to find plenty of free food and free drinks after simply showing the bouncer our room key.

The were, however, a couple of things that kept the Hyatt from getting 5 stars. After leaving our room mid-morning to enjoy the Palm Springs tram, we returned in the late afternoon and the room had not been made up. A call to the front desk solved this problem and the maid cleaned up around us while we watched the NFL playoff games. This brings me to my second gripe. For some reason, the beautiful flat screen TVs in the living room and the bedroom don't get HD signals. An insignificant issue for many, but we had planned on watching the NFL playoff games during our stay. These things certainly wouldn't keep us from returning or recommending the Hyatt as a place to stay in Palm Springs.

For those of you that don't mind a little exercise and want to save the $15 a night self-park fee, there is plenty of free, unrestricted parking behind the hotel on Belardo Road. It runs the entire block. I simply rolled up, dropped off my wife and bags, and found a spot we could see from our balcony. With the money we saved, we enjoyed a nice meal at Cheeky's. They serve the best BLT I have ever tasted. The bacon is spiced, but not too severely, with jalapeno. Man, it was good! The hotel is also in the heart of downtown Palm Springs and convenient to the shops and restaurants. Definitely would stay again.

I truly enjoyed reading your review of our hotel. We had the honor of hosting the closing party for the Palm Springs International Film Festival which drew approximately 900 people to our hotel. I'm so glad that you both joined in on the fun and excitement. It only happens once a year! And the food was soooooo good!! We are patiently waiting for HD to come to our hotel. The cable company needs to make this happen....I wish it was sooner than later. And....I'm going to Cheeky's to try that BLT you mentioned...sounds fantastic. Thanks for staying with us and I hope when you come back to Palm Springs you come back to the Hyatt!! Cheers.

“Nice room, poor restaurant”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

Not typically a Hyatt guy but did not have a choice on this trip. the room was fine, clean, and all of the amenities that you would expect. The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Just do not be in a hurry when eating at the hotel restaurant. Very, very slow at breakfast time (and it was not too busy). did not try the restaurant during lunch or dinner. I ate breakfast there twice and it was the same deal. The food was average and very over priced.

Oops...sounds like the staff was not doing their job during breakfast....I will definately be sharing this review with them. I'm glad to hear everything else went very well. I hope you will come back and try us again....especially the restaurant since I'm doing to remedial customer service training in that area. Thanks for the review!

“Another great stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Stayed here for the second time in 2011, just after Thanksgiving. Paid for the standard room, and as a Hyatt Diamond member, was given a top floor mountain view.

As always, rooms were very comfortable and clean. The "suite" style rooms with the separate living area helps this property stand out.

Free appetizers during happy hour were a nice touch at the bar, and they offered a pretty nice selection of good quality wines by the glass.

Although we prefer the Hyatt Grand Champions when traveling with our kids (more kid friendly pool), we very much prefer this property when traveling as a couple. The location is excellent; walking distance to some very nice steak houses, as well as the casino.

No doubt that we'll be back soon.

Room Tip: Mountain view tends to be much more quiet than city (street) view.

This is fantastic....we work very hard to impress our guests every day so that they will want to come back to our hotel over and over again and I am so happy to hear that you are a FAN of our hotel. I always tell my staff about this certain hotel I stay at in Las Vegas....and I LOVE going only to that hotel....and that's what I want our guests to say about the Hyatt Palm Springs! Thank you so much our loyal Diamond member for taking the time to write this review. I certainly do appreciate it. Cheers!!

“BLOWN AWAY!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

This weekend, we were in PS during this crazy windstorm that knocked out power all over town. The house we rented lost electricity and we had to scramble to find lodging at the last second. What a blessing it turned out to be. The Hyatt Regency was able to accommodate all 13 of us and we couldn't have been happier. The facility is well located and the rooms were spacious and nicely appointed. The beds were comfy and the Sunday brunch was good with perfect servers (wish I could remember our waiter's name but both waiters that day were great). The reception gals (Jenna Floyd and Jackie Saenz) were most fabulous. So welcoming and friendly! We were harried from the storm big time. We're talking 90 mph gusts that knocked over trees and blew tiles off buildings that actually HIT us. Coming into the Hyatt was like sanctuary. Jenna greeted us with a huge smile and actually made us feel like we were family. Though they were booked, she managed to get us all into rooms close to one another. Jenna was so friendly and kind, she had us laughing until the stress melted away. The next day, Jenna greeted me by name along with her radiant smile. Jackie handled our check-out and was so sweet, it made me sad to leave. Both gals are beautiful inside and out and management did a good job placing them at the front desk because they're the perfect welcome to a great hotel. We were first blown away by the storm but then we were blown away by Hyatt's excellent hospitality. Thank you! We'll be back!

That was some crazy windstorm that day! It felt like a hurricane. I'm so glad we didn't lose our power as many others did in the valley! Jenna and Jackie are two of the best employees we have...well actually, all the employees are so great here. Our number one goal is to provide genuine hospitality...no matter what kind of weather....we are here to serve! Thanks for bringing the gang with you and staying at our hotel. I'm so happy it worked out for all of you. Jenna and Jackie will receive a "special" treat at our next employee rally! Can't wait to have you back.
