“Beautiful Grounds”

We enjoyed our stay at ES and the weather couldn't have been better right at 80 degrees in January. What a treat! Everything is kept in tip top condition but I will suggest that you not get a room next to any of the glass doors as when they open the door drags the threshold causing a scrapping noise that can be heard from rooms close by. We went through 3 different doors and they all scrapped. Our bed was not comfortable, we felt it was too hard but then that's a subjective statement. I also forgot my memory foam pillow and fought all night long with the pillows provided. Again, a matter of personal taste. The breakfast was very nice, made to order and the wait staff very accomodating. In the evenings they serve wine and hors d'oeuvres; a nice touch. We spent most of our time in Palm Springs and we got tired of the long drive back and forth. Had we known the distance between the two towns we would have selected a hotel closer to PS. All in all it was a nice stay.

Blooms65,

Thank you for the great review! It's always nice to hear back from our guests after they have enjoyed their time at our hotel.

I'm very pleased to see that you were able to enjoy our complimentary breakfast and also the manager's reception that we host every day for our guests. Both of these events have always been very popular with our guests.

I understand if you choose to select a different property in the future because of our distance from Palm Springs, however I do sincerely appreciate you staying with us during this visit! Thanks again for the review!

Sincerely,

Front Office Manager

Stayed here to visit relatives who live in Palm desert, on the second stop of our first trip to the States.
Just what we wanted, a clean, spacious, no nonsense place to sleep. Impressed with the little kitchenette. There is a large supermarket you can walk to next door which was handy for snacks and drinks.
The breakfast was a nice treat as were the evening drinks, although we only made it to this once. We had a nice dinner there one evening and a bar snack. Friendly, helpful staff. Hope to return in September.

“Logistics logistics”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

I love staying in ES, Most of the time I can be assured of a comfortable bed, sizable room, working facilities. While this particular property is a unique ES, it's tasteful decor is sure to please. I am a HH Diamond member. I don't expect the world but I do expect to be able to get room service when it is offered.

I am sure exhaustion was partially to blame, but having to jockey from the back of the hotel 2x's for food really isn't my idea of a good time. phones did not work. Banged head on bathroom door while using the toilet, so it's a bit cramped to say the least. Plastic cups at the managers reception is just crazy-tacky.... the coffee was not restocked in my room BIG no no for me! turn down service was nice but didn't come by second night. When I finally returned from the grill with my Styrofoam containers of food, I literally fell over in the chair at the desk. it is missing a wheel or something. this property has nice potential.....but... have you ever been someplace and the complacency just oozes out of everywhere? This strikes me as THIS place.

The upside is that it IS a campy-cute property, and the beds are nice. I'm sure MY stay is a unique experience, but this is an Embassy Suites property

blish,

I want to thank you for posting an honest review of your experience at our property. All guest feedback is welcome and appreciated, especially when it comes from one of our loyal Hilton HHonors Diamond VIPs.

I would like to offer my apologies to you for the several issues that you encountered while you were a guest at our hotel. From the room service issues, to the room condition (particularly the broken chair which is grossly unacceptable), we clearly did not put our best foot forward while hosting you here.

In a recent Manager's Meeting, several of our newest TripAdvisor.com reviews were shared, including this one. The response from our team naturally was disappointment in how poorly we performed. We all discussed ways to improve upon these shortcomings and are confident that our service and quality moving forward will greatly improve.

I certainly hope that this experience does not deter you from returning to our property, however, I do thank you again for selecting our hotel on your recent visit to Palm Desert and for your review.

Sincerely,

Front Office Manager

“good place to stay with a baby”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Our stay here was good, and we brought out 7 month old. They were very accomodating, and the suite was perfect as we could put the baby down in the room, and still hang out in the living room the rest of the night. They provided a pac-n-play for the baby and the hot breakfast in themorning was great. The only thing that wasn't great was room service guy let us tip even thought he had already included a tip and didn't tell us so he ended up getting 50% of the bill as a tip. I talked with the front desk in the morning and they were supposed to refund the extra tip we left but never did.

Room Tip: bottom floor rooms are right off the parking lot and can be a little noisier so ask for a room on th...

hpatkinson,

I would like to thank you for posting this nice review of your stay here. I am very pleased that we were able to accommodate you and your family. Having the extra living room area is definitely a nice benefit when traveling with young children; more space to stretch out and relax!

I apologize for the issue that you experienced with the room service and the extra gratuity that you were charged. Although we do print information regarding the automatic gratuity for room service deliveries on the menu, our staff member should have identified the extra gratuity you left and mentioned and spoken up. I would be glad to look up your past stay and resolve this issue for you. Simply contact the hotel and ask to speak with the Front Office Manager.

Despite the issue with the gratuity, I certainly hope that you enjoyed your stay. Should your family travel back to Palm Desert, we would be very grateful if you chose to stay with us again.

Sincerely,

Front Office Manager

2011 New Years Eve. I arrived with the confirmed reservation both in writing and over the phone 2 hours prior to arrival. At check in things turned awry. Once they checked my ID a strange behavior took place. Clerks started whispering and passing hand written notes from the manager to inform me that my room does not exist and that it was Priceline's fault for OVERBOOKING the hotel. Priceline was their only line of defense that got repeated endlessly. (priceline claims they receive confirmation from the hotels directly)
They suggested I should get a room at their sister hotel Comfort Suites outside of town by the freeway. I declined and insisted they have to do something at the hotel. Then another client handed his ID and all of a sudden there is a room for him while they are still denying my stay.
After pointing that out along with my confirmed reservation they somehow found an unhappy client who canceled his room. They asked me to wait until the room is cleaned so I can move in. Mind you it takes some serious self control not to scream profanities and insults but the one who deserved those (the Manager) was not there. These brown nosing F@#*s reap all the benefits while the working class has to take the abuse for their own corporate BS. This is my second stay in a Hilton branch hotel within a week and one word would describe it ...PATHETIC. I've been booking with the third party purveyors for about 15 years now and never had my room be overbooked. These people just showed where we are currently with corporate mentality. which is all about the highest bidder. On any other day they would kiss your fit to earn your business but on the New Years Eve they get to hand pick the one that pays the most. My advice . Call the hotel and get the names prior to arrival.

MCMLX,

Allow me to begin by extending my sincerest apologies to you for the awful experience and difficulty you had during your check-in at our hotel over New Year's Eve. In all honesty, it was very difficult to read about what happened, considering that it was my department that handled this situation so poorly.

It is certainly never our intention to make our guests feel any less important than anyone else simply by the way they booked their room. Although overbooking does happen and is not always 100% preventable, the way that this particular situation was handled was not appropriate. I can assure you that this is in no way an indication of how we operate our hotel and that this training issue will be rectified immediately.

I welcome the opportunity to discuss this situation with you further and if you are interested, you may contact our hotel at anytime and ask to speak with the Front Office Manager. Please understand that we are taking this situation very seriously and are extremely sorry for it taking place to begin with.

Sincerely,

Front Office Manager
