We make The Fairfield our home base while visiting the Coachella Valley. Others have commented on the large rooms, flat screen TV sets, WiFi and general cleanliness. The of terrific shopping nearby at the Centres ' stores accross Highway 111 and the high -end boutiques of El Paseo , Macy's at Westfield , all are a definite advantage.
We love to hike the Bump and Grind that starts just behind the Target just accross the way but what really stands out here is the staff. Excellent from the top down and what you expect of the Marriott brand.
The Fairfield does not pretend to be a luxury hotel but the quality of service and the staff are first class and reflect the level of management there.We stayed for over a week in December, had a poolside room with a small private seating area, requested a fridge that came with a microwave, and made regular use of the business centre off the breakfast area. The machines in the fitness room are new, the laundry room also has big washers and dryers...detergent was provided by the front desk staff.
We rarely have breakfast at the hotel because we are off exploring the region, or hiking, or shopping somewhere in the Valley. I grab a banana and a yogurt and go but you will find healthy choices here as well if you choose to eat in.
There is so much to do. You are less than half an hour from Palm Springs, minutes away from 'The River', very near to the weekend Street Fair, within walking distance of many good retaurants and...my favorite...Trader Joe's. Just check out the selection of ready made salads...my go to meal in a pinch. And they have the best healthy snacks around.
While you are there, do not pass up a chance to visit the Palm Springs Art Museum, a visit to the Indian Canyons or take a drive to the Salton Sea. One of these days I will get to the Air Museum.
The shopping at Cabazon is always good and an excuse to have breakfast at the Dinosaur Diner along the way. Not sure of the exact name but you will spot it on the side road on the way to Cabazon. Kids will love the huge dinos and there is even a shop in one.
