“A hidden gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

While less well known than many other places in the desert, this is a gem, a real find. At the price of a room you can have a suite with a kitchen and all the amenities. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the pool area is lovely. There are also a numbe of smaller pools spread out on the property. This is also a major tennis facility. Recommend it highly for families or couples.

Room Tip: Large property, depends on your needs - ie- near pool, tennis, quiet. Ask when making reservation. Al...

“Great place spend time in Palm Desert”

This is a great value and location. It has a great BIG pool for the kids (Ages 9-13) and lots of activities including Basketball, tennis, volleyball, ping pong and bike riding. The staff was very helpful and the grounds were well kept. We did notice that several of the units were for sale or in foreclosure, but the unit we stayed in was nicely decorated and well kept up. There was laundry facilities in the building that were clean and easy to use. The property is definitely retro. Each unit is different. My sister's family stayed in a unit where the kitchen was not updated, but it had a large floor plan. The units we stayed in were spacious, and with teenagers and tweens that helps. It was quiet, even with us there.

Not all units had WiFi. The main check in lounge did. Our unit did, sister's unit didn't.

The property is close to the main shopping strip, (walking distance) with a lot of food options. There is also a Trader Joe's close by. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and dishes.

“We like It”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2011

This was the second time that we've spent two nights in one of the studio condos. The rooms are not new; but, they are fine for a few days. The grounds and pools are lovely. We ate lunch at the little cafe once; and, it was so good we were unhappy that it was closed the second day. We can walk to Mama Ginas and El Paseo; and, we've walked to the Desert Museum. Great location, and decent pricing. We'll probably be back.

“great pool, gounds..room scary”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 May 2011

The property grounds are wonderful, especially the pool. Wolf in sheeps clothing. Our room/lived in condo was gross. Inital smell was of strong cleaning chems. We aired it out for a few hours. Then as we settled in we smelled garlic/fish. The garbage disposal was nasty with food. The fridge had pasta on the walls. The dishwasher had dishes in it. The A/C fan was creaky and cranking. My suggestion is that you check in but visit your room and determine wether it is suttable. Room 222. Sham on me for not doing same.

“Great location and family friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2010

We spent two weeks at the Enclaves. Extended family joined us for weekends. We had our two year old grandson for one week and he loved the walk-in pool. Pool bartender, don't remember his name was great! We only ate lunch at the pool bar so can not comment on other restaurants. October is reseeding month for the golf courses so no golf but we knew that and it wasn't our focus this trip. Enclave two bedroom worked out well for our family. Modern design but roomy enough. Kitchen was functional. Toaster broke and within a few minutes a replacement was brought. Rooms are bright and cheery. They were smart to use some leather upholstery because of wear and tear. We had housekeeping come in three times to change sheets and clean.
There was a mix up with our 2nd week reservation (Interval International mistake) but the front desk honored our request. There are alot of units at neighboring shadow ridge villas with a pool set up of one large complex with multiple pools. Too crowded and we were glad we were at the Enclave. When they build more units they need to add more pools.

There were always clean towels available poolside and plenty of lounge chairs but no umbrellas. In the hot desert they need umbrellas. The tents or cabanna's that are available are way in the back and not practical for safely watching children in the pool.

Location is excellent to restaurants and shopping in town. We had a horrible breakfast at Sherman's Deli and was so disappointed. Went to dinner at Pacifica and not impressed. Entrees in the $30 range and just ordinary. Comments are that Palm Desert is a resort town but that doesn't mean that you have to overcharge for mediocre food.
Amici's Italian restaurant was excellent and allowed us to bring in a birthday cake. Wednesdays wine is half price! We made a reservation for a Saturday for party of ten and they accomodated us with great service and delicious food at fair prices.
LG's steak house is a treat and excellent. Best Caesar salad!

We flew in to Palm Springs airport and it's small and very convenient.

Children's Museum is wonderful - took two year old grandson and he had a blast!...and so did we!

All in all a great trip and we will go back. Our time share is in Scottsdale (wonderful) but enjoyed Enclaves just as much.
