“Terrific B&B”

We decided to try Tres Palmas based on the great Trip Advisor reviews and close proximity to relatives were were visiting in Palm Desert. We got so much more! Tres Palmas is less than a five minute walk from El Paseo featuring great shops and restaurants. And it was designed as a B&B from the beginning, which gave us plenty of privacy but also the opportunity to meet other guests as well. But what makes it uniquely exceptional is Dale and Kathy Adams; they are first-class hosts and made our stay an absolute pleasure -- within a day we felt more like we were visiting with good friends than staying in a hotel. For example, we were running late checking in, but Dale and Kathy "held" Happy Hour for us to make sure we would feel welcome. But that was nothing compared to the terrific breakfasts they prepared, including amazing "blood orange" juice we picked from the trees around the pool and hot tub and that Dale squeezed and served within minutes. The room, bed, bathroom and other amenities were great; we didn't try the pool but it's in a beautiful setting for taking a dip day or night. The Adams' have thought of everything: wine, appetizers, breakfast, snacks, videos, magazines, directions -- you will want for nothing during a stay at Tres Palmas. We can't imagine staying anywhere else in Palm Desert! Thanks Dale and Kathy!

“My Wife said - This is the Best place we've ever stayed!”

We travel a lot. I'm usually bringing my wife along when I travel on business. This trip was "just for her" no business involved. We've done these trips before, she just never feels we do enough of them. As said, we travel a lot and usually stay at resorts. I saw the fantastic tripadvisor reviews and called Kathy to make our reservation. I agree with my wife, this is the best stay and time we've ever had. The location, a block or two off El Paseo Drive (stores and eating) and makes for great walks (which I do a lot of). Kathy and Dale....what can I say....they are not just great hosts, but made us feel like we were visiting friends. The room - Fantastic! The cocktail hour - Fantastic! The breakfasts - More than Fantastic! And of course we'll never be able to have fresh squeezed juice within 20 minutes of picking (that is until we come back). Our thanks to Kathy and Dale and thanks for the breakfast recipies you printed for us Kathy!

“A private shangri-la”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 May 2011

This has been a favorite getaway for us the last 4-5 years, however, the last two years have been exceptional having Dale and Kathy Adams as our hosts. They are truly a lovely couple and we felt as though we came in as guests but left having found special friends.
You will be spoiled from check-in to check-out. There isn't enough space to describe all the niceties we experienced in this beautiful home. It's a perfect location - one block from El Paseo. All four suites are wonderfully appointed and the beds are devine. Not to mention the culinary delights coming from the kitchen each morning. Forget the diet...you won't want to miss it.
We can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: All 4 suites are A++

“An oasis of comfort and hospitality”

We were only booked for one night but couldn’t resist extending for a second night. Kathy and Dale go out of their way to make guests feel pampered. No sooner had we checked in than it was time for Happy Hour, relaxing and chatting with other guests. The well-stocked bar and wine cellar were complemented by a tasty assortment of appetizers. One reason we chose Tres Palmas was for its seemingly secluded location yet only a two minute walk from the boutique shops and fine restaurants on El Paseo. Our room was tastefully decorated with a tranquil atmosphere and, of course, provided all the bath amenities one would expect from a superior B&B. The day begins with freshly squeezed juices and fruit, Dale’s puffy French toast or other creative delicacies. On our second day, we decided to hibernate around the grass and palm-lined pool, a mini Garden of Eden with its flowering plants and shrubs. It was a grand, self-indulgent respite…exactly what we needed, especially with the nuts and candies and soft drinks a few steps away in the house. Kathy and Dale take a personal interest in each guest and are knowledgeable about nearby restaurants and other places to visit. It is obvious that they enjoy their roles as hosts, and we look forward to seeing them again at Tres Palmas.

“Could not be better”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 April 2011

When my wife and I stayed here several years ago we thought it was perfect. However, the current owners have managed to make it even better.

The room and furnishings are decorator perfect and the bed so comfortable it made you want to take your time waking up. The terry cloth robes are a great touch and the bath sheets after a leisurely shower are a luxurious contrast to the over sized hand towels offered in many places.

The large flat screen TV, DVD player, and dozens of movies to chose from are more than enough to keep anyone from being bored.

The pool/spa area provides ample quiet and comfortable sunny or shady seating for napping, reading or just watching the birds and clouds pass overhead.

The breakfasts were so good they might be illegal. The owners Dale and Kathy are a delightful couple. The evening wine hour was more like drinks and hors d'oeuvres with long time friends than simply a chat with the hosts.

Its proximity to El Paseo with its shops, restaurants, and galleries has convenient options for pedestrian excursions for any purpose. There are dozens of dining choices like Tony Roma's, the Daily Grill and Armando's Mexican restaurant, as well more casual places like Panera's.

We parked the car when we arrived and didn't use it again until we left. Whether you visit the area to golf, hike, sightsee and shop, or simply to relax and enjoy the fresh air and desert weather, this is the place to stay.

It simply could not be any better.

Room Tip: Cabernet room is the largest of the four.
