“Stayed for one night”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

We loved Pacifica - tiny little sea town off San Francisco, Pacific highway 1. Waves our amazing here, and I saw the best sunset I've ever seen here - which is why we stayed the night.
Hotel was clean, big, staff friendly and we got a sea view room which was very nice. Free wifi, close to San Francisco, lovely little town. Out of everywhere we visted in the 3 weeks we travelled Cali, Arizona and Nevada, this town was our favourite :) I'm rating it Very good, mainly because of the lcoation but the room was good value.

“Good for a quick trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

We were traveling back from our 30th anniversary trip, and decided we did not want to drive all the way back to Sacramento that evening. so we stopped in Pacifica and I checked for a room.
Only problem I had was the bed, but since you will really find a hotel with a bed you like I will never mark them down for the bed unless it is broken or really old and this was neither.
Great for a quick stop and sleep for the night. Ask for a room with a view

“Perfect little getaway”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

My husband and I went to Pacifica to celebrate our 16 year anniversary. We stayed at the Pacifica Motor Inn, and though it was your typical little beach town motel, it was still a nice stay. The staff was very friendly. It's very quiet, and the beach is so close, perfect location for relaxation!!!

“Good location, but run down and rusty (literally).”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2011

This is a very basic, no-frills hotel, so don't expect to find anything fancy when you check in. Here is the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly about this hotel:

The Good:
- Location is good, if you want to be outside of the hustle bustle of the city. This hotel is right off of Highway 1 in Pacifica, in a cute little shopping center, just a 1 minute walk to the beach.
- Free parking
- The room we had was clean, for the most part -- mostly just outdated curtains and carpet, which made it appear a bit unclean.
- The room we had was very large, with 2 double beds and a lot of space.
- The room we had was equipped with a large mini-fridge, an outdated microwave, and a TV (not flat screen) and with a few channels.
- The shower was outdated, but for the most part clean. There was also a complimentary wall-mounted hair-dryer in the bathroom.
- There is complimentary WiFi througout the property.

The Bad:
- This hotel is very worn down and could use a huge renovation. The elevator was slow, the stairs were splintery, and the stair railings were rusty (eww!).
- If it matters to you -- this is what I would call a "motel", not a "hotel" -- meaning, the entry door to the guest rooms is from the outside, rather from an indoor corridor. I think motels provide less safety than hotels for this reason.
- The sheets on my bed had holes in them, and so did 2 of the bathroom towels I used. The hole in the sheet was the size of a cigarette (hmm), and the towel was so ripped it was embarrassing. Seriously? Can't they afford to replace the worn out towels?
- The pillows on the bed were terrible -- flat and lumpy.
- The walls were super thin - I could hear everything the neighbors were saying. Also, I could hear people and their rude children running up and down the outside walkway all night and in the morning, dragging their bags along. Again, this is an old building -- the walkways are not very sturdy, thus they are loud.
- The continental breakfast is a joke. It consisted of some cheap danishes in plastic wrap and some terrible coffee.
- The complimentary internet was very very very slow (don't know if this was due to the service, or the wireless router, or what)

The Ugly:
- The rust! I realize this hotel is practically on the ocean, and rust is a factor when there is that much moisture -- but still. Eww! The doors were coated in rust, and so were all the stair railings.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless you really want to stay in this area and everything else is either sold out or too expensive (which is what happened to us -- we actually wanted to stay at the Holiday Inn Express next door).

Room Tip: Ask for a room with an ocean view.

“DONT GO THERE!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2011

We recently stayed for one night at the Pacifica Motor Inn mostly for the location as it was close to the beach, and on the way to our final destination. We checked into the room, and noted that it was a little 'out-dated' yet clean in most respects. The maintenance of the rooms should be better maintained for the rate that is being charged for them. In the latter part of the evening when we were turning in, I found that the light/fan switch in the bathroom would not work, and thus, the light and fan remained turned on all night. Also the over-head light in the room randomly turned on and off all night long as the switch was also faulty and would not operate properly. I went to the office and notified the night desk person about thwe situation and she told me that the maintenance people were not going to be there until the following week to fix the problem. I explained to her that the lights would not turn off and she again told me that the maintenance people were not available....as if she did not understand the issue at hand, further insulting my intelligence.
She did not offer to give us another room, and quickly vanished behind the door behind the desk. Needless to say, we did not get any sleep in the room, and the next morning I complained to the man at the office desk who proceeded to tell me that they had not had that problem in the past...again, insulting my intelligence, and playing 'dumb'. I told him that I wanted a refund, or at the very least, a sizeable reduction in the rate for the room. He proceeded to tell me that he would contact the 'owner' and tell him the situation, and that I would receive a call back to rectify the situation.....several phone calls and weeks later, I have still not received a reply, and I get the same excuse about not being able to get in touch with the 'illusive' owner. The customer service of this establishment is pathetic, and these people are crooks! It is a nice location, and yet it is sad to see that it is ran by such an incompetent group of people. I am trying to get some kind of refund through my payment source as I am sure that it will not happen through the staff of the Inn.
Oh!! And the "continental breakfast"??? Forget about it!!! Just some stale old pre-packaged danish with a shelf-life of one hundred years and coffee....just pass it up!!
Better yet, DONT GO THERE!!!!!
