On March 22 my family and I stayed at the Americas Best Value Inn at Pacifica, California. The Inn supposedly got a 4-check rating, as shown on the brochure. Instead, we discovered accommodations that were substandard. The carpet was not only dirty, but was unraveled badly and needed to be replaced. The bedding was torn and looked old. There was lots of mold/mildew around the windows and on the shower curtain. And the place had an odor to it. The "breakfast" the next morning was a joke. Considering that we had just stayed in another hotel (in the San Francisco Bay area) the night before that was a lot nicer, not only in condition, cleanliness, and amenities for $20 less, the name "America's Best Value Inn" seemed a misnomer, at best.
Based on what we experienced, we will avoid this chain in the future.
