My wife and I stayed at the HIE in Pacifica after flying into SFO for a trip to Napa Valley and the Monterey peninsula in November. It was a twenty minute drive from the airport. One of the main reasons I booked this hotel was the good reviews on TripAdvisor and the closeness to the beach with the nice views of the ocean. The staff at the front desk were very helpful. The room was fairly large and was nice and clean. The breakfast was the standard for a HIE and it had one of the best views from the breakfast area of any hotel. The rate was fairly high but not unreasonable for the SF area. It was a good stay.

We couldn’t recommend our room more – but it is probably the only room we would want to book. We stayed in room 207 and it had the perfect ocean view and we could hear the waves crashing loudly all night. Bliss.

As we lay in bed all we could see was ocean, sky and the large rocks in the nearby cove.

Our room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. There is a “fireplace” picture on the wall that emanates heat – a fun touch. Our room also contained a small kitchenette area with microwave, refrigerator, sink and storage that we really enjoyed and appreciated. We had a LARGE flat screen TV on the wall opposite the bed. Also, the windows open and very easily.

There were other guests in the hotel but we did not hear them – it was very quiet and peaceful.

The bathroom was very well appointed. The shower was EXCELLENT. It has a large showerhead that is removable to be used as a handheld! You never find this in hotels and it is a great feature. The hotel also provides complimentary wireless access and the connection is VERY fast.

The proprietors are very friendly and helpful. Coffee, tea and cookies are provided 24/7 and a decent hot/cold breakfast is complimentary with the room.

We booked directly through the Holiday Inn website for a rate of $165 and feel it was a decent rate for what we got.

We would definitely recommend the Holiday Inn Express Hotel in Pacifica.

Had a pleasure of staying here on the way from SF to LA in the beginning of October. Had two rooms on F&F rate - $130 (2 people) and $170 (3 people). Was upgraded to jacuzzi suite, but I asked for two room suite instead. Very friendly, accommodating and enthusiastic staff. Excellent breakfast. Rooms are large and clean. Location is right on the beach. Highly recommend it.

We were greeted by one of the most enthusiastic employees(who obviously loves her job). The room was gigantic. Bed, couch, chair, ottoman, desk, huge tv, jacuzzi tub in bathroom, and large bay window overlooking the beach. We sat on our couch enjoying a glass of wine and watched the surfers. The room was a little overpriced at $218 a night. We were only 15 minutes from the SFO for our flight out. Wish it was pet friendly.
