“Warm and inviting.”

After driving from san Francisco on a cold damp day in late July it was lovely to be greeted with a warm and friendly welcome. Pacific gardens Inn and pacific grove is like stepping back in time. The rooms are not ultra modern, but true to phoographs( sheets and blankets on the beds) but they are clean, large and provided all the necessary facilities. The only disappointment was the carpet felt a bit worse for wear. The large open fire was a blessing as we had gotten chilled to the bone in San francisco. Kelly welcomed us with great enthusiasm and showed us to our room (206 second floor as requested on booking). She was a wealth of information and advised us of local eateries/things to do.The lobby area with easy chairs and fireplace was a nice place to sit for breakfast and afternoon cheese and wine and provided an opportunity to chat with other visitors if wanted. Continental breakfast was plentiful and well laid out(cereal, juice, fruit, crumpets, bagels, scones, jam, tea and coffee. The 2 hot tubs were fun to use after dark ,Lay back and gaze at the stars whilst enjoying the peace and quiet, well maintained and very hot ( shame about the cold dash back to room!) Basic but functional laundry. Excellent location. Ample parking. Bus stops right outside. Close to 17 mile drive, Asilomar beach, point Lobos, carmel pacific Grove and cannery row.
17th street diner is a great place for a hearty meal on a budget whilst staying here.
Overall pacific garden inn is a Great place, good food, friendly and welcoming in an idealic setting. A little bit dated and noisey water system but full of charm and great value for money. would stay here over and over and recommend to family and friends.

“Clean and nice staff. Room interior is very outdated.”

Stayed here for 2 nights with my bf for our anniversary get away. The staff is so nice and gave us a great price for a suite w 2 queen beds huge bathroom and a fireplace. Also tiny fridge. It's very clean. They also provide complimentary wine and cheese from 5-7pm and also continental breakfast. My only
Complaints are 2 things : terrible bedding and interior decor (very old motel looking) and the tv has about 10 channels which more than half in different languages or didn't work.

“Relaxing Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 December 2011

We stayed at the Pacific Gardens Inn for 2 nights. Robert, the Manager is very friendly and he upgraded us to a Fireplace Room. The location is great for long walks, and it is very quiet.
I enjoyed the low key atmosphere of the property, breakfast in the morning, and wine and cheese in the evening, and internet use. The room was large and clean. The bathroom, bedding, heating system, plumbing, and carpeting need to be upgraded.

Excellent location to Asilomar beach, downtown Pacific Grove, Monterey, Carmel. Comfortable lobby to have complimentary breakfast, read a book, relax by the fireplace, enjoy the evening cheese/crackers/wine. Friendly and helpful owners and staff. Rooms are large and comfortable with coffee or tea and popcorn machine. Children friendly!
I stay at Pacific Gardens for work and on family vacations, always I look forward to going back!

“Outstanding situation and value in PG”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2011

We have stayed here many times both before the present owner, Robert, took over and now since he has had the place. Low key; dog friendly (only some rooms); beautiful situation across the street from Asilomar and a 5 minute walk to the ocean and the beach. Pacific Grove is a great low key town; endless good restaurants in PG and Monterey. Don't even have to think about Carmel and Carmel Valley but they're there if you want them.
The most restful vacation imaginable with the ocean close to hand.
The rooms are fine. Not fancy but the price is absolutely right. Owner is very hands-on; very friendly; very helpful.

Room Tip: Rooms are very similar; only difference is upstairs or ground level and 3 or 4 units have a living r...
