We knew we wouldn't be in the room a lot, so we opted for less costly accommodations. As most reviewers state this place hasn't been updated in years. I think if the bed was more comfortable I would have been a lot happier with Borg's. Loved the view and access to the trail along the bay. If you are looking for more comfort and luxury this is not the place for you. If you want to save a few bucks and like hard mattresses go for it. No complaints on the cleanliness of the room or staff. Good location.

I stayed at the Borg because my usual place was booked. the view and location is the best i recommend it to anyone. the rooms are clean and the help is great. Frank is the man. perfect for couples even better for families.

For the location and the price this older Motel is a gem in an otherwise overpriced coastal area. It is nice to know you can still find a decent lodging for a decent price in the Monterey area. The rooms are clean and perfectly adequate, but the location is the best. The motel is right across from the foot/bike path that takes you right to the Monterey Bay Aquarium....the path is a scenic one mile walk to Cannery Row.

This is a older hotel some rooms have been renovated. There are two types of views, bay front and "other" the bay front are to die for. We had a Corvette group here, eight rooms and no gripes. It was our second visit. The only down side is no refrigerator in room. It is a short uphill walk to eateries and a longer walk to the aquarium. Just remember to ask (and pay) for the upstairs view rooms.
