This is a basic b and b - nicely kept areas in main part of front parlor - the breakfasts were delicious, nice offerings of muffins, fruit as well as a hot item served that morning. You do get what you pay for though, and Pacific Grove can get pricey - this is on the lower end of the b and bs, I was disappointed in our "basement" king room, curtains don't fit the window, toilet didn't flush well, shower head was horrible - a random trickle - and my husband and I both burnt our arms on the heated towel rack trying to adjust it! However - at breakfast I mentioned a few of these things to the owner - really just so he would know ( also had an electrical issue ) and I have to say he was very polite and offered us a different room for the next night. We were happy in the second buildings king room. I would stay here again - only if I could have that same room - The inn is well priced, but it lacks some charm as far as decor and the furnishings are a bit tired and worn - to sum up - priced right for location and ambiance - owner and staff quite friendly and helpful - breakfast was great - give it a try, just don't get sent to the basement!
