I stay 180 nights per year, usually at Choice Hotels. The hotel's website advertises "deluxe" continental breakfast. Two days before checking in, I inquired about the breakfast. It is set-up in the lobby (no breakfast room) and only included toast, muffins, and cereal. I asked about the "deluxe" term and was told that meant toast and muffins. In other hotels deluxe usually indicates at least waffles, but not here. In addition, no business center. I received poor service from the manager when trying to cancel the reservation 48 hours before check-in - I would have to pay a $50.00 cancellation fee.

Very poor quality, older rooms, and a disappointing stay.

My wife and I stayed over on a trip up the CA coast. The location is nice, about 4 bolcks from downtown and 5 blocks from the ocean. This older hotel looks okay from the outside but falls short once you enter the room. Old furnishings, poor lighting, almost impossible "dish TV", and a strong small of bug spray (no bugs)s. The desk staff were nice but the free breakfast was scant. It's not expensive, but you get what you pay for.

This is our third stay at the Wilkie's Inn. We are regular British visitors to this area. Obviously we were very pleased with our two previous visits and decided to stay here for an extended week's holiday. The room was clean and comfortable, with all services functioning perfectly. The staff were helpful and polite. The continental breakfast was perfectly adequate for the price. It is in a perfect location for the Monterey Peninsula and is a perfect base for local attractions. We would certainly recommend this Inn and intend to stay here in the future. Note to negative reviewers - this isn't the Miami Carlton but a small, friendly inn in a small Californian resort.

My girlfriend and I loved this place! We are both in our twenties and the Wilkies Inn fit us perfectly. The rooms are clean and have a warm design that worked perfect for Valentines day fun. Bathrooms are nice and fit our needs. My girlfriend loved the little fireplace heaters and is constantly reminding me how fun our aquarium trip was.
