“GREAT VALUE for the Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2009

Got an internet price of $55 for 2 people. Amazing value considering it includes a pretty decent breakfast (make your own fresh Belgian waffles, french toast, breads, toasts, yogurt, several different cereals, milk, juice, coffee, tea, scrambled-like eggs, sausage, and some starches. They also have an evening social hour and offer complimentary snack foods. Although we didn't partake, last night's offering was BBQ ribs and corn. There is a full-size refrigerator, microwave oven, full size stove/oven, toaster and coffee maker in the room. They even supply cutting board, dishwashing liquid, a set of plates/glasses, The King bed was comfortable. The shower pressure is great. The shower drain is great. It does smell a little musty, though. And I don't think the renovation got to the 3rd floor yet. There's a TV in the living room as well as one in the bedroom (not flat panels). If you are accustomed to foreign hotels, this hotel will suit you fine. If you are accustomed to American standards and prefer Hyatt's, etc., you probably will not like this hotel. The parking is complimentary. For us, the advantages far outweighed the disadvantages. Oh, and there is free WIFI in the room. This was an overall great value.

“Not bad for the price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2009

I found it to be a fairly generic hotel, but the price was great and the room was comfortable enough. Lot's of locks on the door, which made me wonder about security in the area. Although there were some strange characters around, I had no problems and felt safe.

“Great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2009

This hotel was an amazing bargain for us and would be at double the price we paid.
Pros: really comfortable beds, spacious suite-type rooms, great kitchenette with microwave, silverware and full refrigerator, beautiful outdoor pool and jacuzzi, nice breakfast room and great free breakfast with bagels, donuts, homemade waffles, yogurt and lots of choices; pretty lobby with lending library; free internet in room; lots of cable channels on the three tvs in our 3 room suite, free parking, convenient location.
Cons: the facility is older, the elevator is older and needs remodeling, the facility allows pets and in the wet morning outside there was a smell of "doggie business."

“Two Roomed Suites - Full Kitchen”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2008

The rooms are a bit dated, true, but amenities are nice. My room had a full kitchen with a full sized fridge and a separated bedroom. Two TVs and FREE Wi-Fi! The bed is nice and the pillows are kind of like memory-foam types.

The kitchen sink wouldn't stop running though, it would constantly drip making noise. The bathroom fluorescent lights had the worst flicker (60Hz) I've ever seen. I have a corner room, but the cleaning carts make so much noise on the outside walkway. Only ice machines are on the 1st floor out of three floors.

  • Liked — It's a suite.
  • Disliked — Bathroom lights.

“Needs a complete renovation”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 April 2008

person found this review helpful

This hotel may have been nice in the 80's, but it's old and showing its age. On a very busy street, near the RR tracks with single pane aluminum windows that don't keep out the noise. Old furnishings and decor; this place needs a complete renovation. The evening social hour and breakfast were terrible, both in quality and choice. This is clearly a lower tier establishment.

  • Liked — Close to destination
  • Disliked — This place is clearly past its prime

I would like to respond to the comments that we need a complete renovation of our hotel. I would like to let potential guests know that we are just starting a full renovation of our rooms. This renovation will include completely new bathrooms with new tubs and fixtures, tiled shower walls, new vanity with granite counter tops and new mirrors. Our rooms with full kitchens will be getting new cabinets, granite counter tops and all new appliances. All rooms will be completely repainted, new carpeting installed, some furniture replaced, all new draperies and bedding and TVs will be replaced with flat panels. Furthermore, we are in the process of replacing our TV cable system, installing hardwired internet in all rooms for those guests who are unable to use our WiFi and we have just replaced some of our fitness room equipment and added an Eliptical machine. This remodel will bring this property up to date with a fresh new modern look that is sure to impress our regular guests and invite our first time guests to return again and again.
