I have been skiing for 30years, and I love to ski in Tahoe. I have been to most resorts, and I will say that I love Squaw. However, my kids did not like their ski school at all. After 2 years of trying to teach 4-5 year olds, they were still on the magic carpet and Squaw never took them on higher. ALPINE Ski School was awesome. They have a junior ski school that with 2 smaller beginner lifts. This year they have a magnet system!! The kids wear a vest that had a magnet to hold them to the back of the chair lift. Now I can ski without worry. Our kids have loved to ski here the past two years. By day two this year, our 6 year old was on the Hot Wheels lift going down the blue run. HE LOVES to ski now. Great place for beginners, and parents are challenged on the rest of the mountain.
The ski school instructors were attentive and awesome.

Due to the poor customer service I will never return or tell friends about Alpine Meadows. If you need to speak with someone about just getting information, they make you understand that it is a waste of there time to help you.

Alpine Meadows is hidden on the mountain next to Squaw Valley. The mountain resort is family and environmentally focuses. They have a fantastic kids programs starting out for 3 year olds. Leave the funnatel and gondolas to Squaw and experience a huge mountain with runs for all experience levels. The "out of bounds" availability to hike or traverse is something unique to Alpine Meadows. The logde has a great kids area with a climbing castle and the food is healthy and reasonably price. Many enjoy the free wifi. Even on the super busy days there is never too long of walk from the parking lot and if there is the shuttles are running.
We stay at a home about a mile from the lifts so it is easy with little ones to run back and forth or get there early for fresh tracks!

Where shall I begin? Ah yes the condtions of the slopes... Only resort in Tahoe that had no warnings of exposed rocks, dirt, etc. This year with mammoth snow amounts you would think that they would be able to take care of that, nope.

On to their customer service- Easily the worst business experience of my life. I have never seen more rude employees anywhere on earth. I was accused of wanting to scalp my ticket merely because I asked to use cable cutters to cut it off. Nevermind the fact that we were getting a refund because my girlfriend was sick. A sales manager made sure we left the lot without trying to sell our ticket. What resort accuses their customer's and basically escorts them out? This was easily the most horrific skiing experience of my life.
