“Exceeded Expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

The Ojai Valley Inn and Spa was everything we had always heard, and more. Besides a lovely, peaceful setting, gorgeous grounds, beautifully-appointed rooms and design sense everywhere on the property, and every amenity you could hope for, the service was outstanding. Every employee you come in contact with offers the highest level of hospitality and helpfulness, with a genuinely friendly and courteous manner.

“Elegant, Old World Luxury”

The Ojai Valley Inn and Spa is a beautiful oasis with great attention to detail. My husband and I were only able to visit for two nights and I would have loved to stay longer. The Inn has so much to offer that you never want to leave the property, but the town of Ojai seems like it would be a great place to explore. The spa pool (adults only) is wonderfully tranquil with great service, and the tennis courts and golf course are laid back and very enjoyable. Our view from our room was heavenly and every meal was wonderful. My only complaint is that we had to check out in a hurry and I accidentally left behind a dress and sweater hanging in the closet. I called housecleaning within two hours of our checkout to see if they could get the items from the room, and they claimed they were never found. Besides this mishap, the service was wonderful.

“Understated Peacefulness”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We stayed here for a conference, and was pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the grounds and property.

Upon entering you are treated to lush rolling grounds, a well manicured golf courses, beautiful trees, and incredible views of the surrounding mountains. If you close your eyes, you hear ......, even with the crowds of a very popular hotel, the serenity is almost deafening.

Driving up to the main building you are greeted by very friendly valet staff who make a very good first impression. The lobby is not simple, and the front desk personnel are courteous and efficient.

Our room was well equipped, and had a view of the golf course. Flat panel TV, FREE wireless internet throughout the grounds, a nice work desk, love seat, and balcony. Overall, just a great room, and very relaxing. Only downside was this particular room was next to some kind of machinery which would turn off and on, which was very annoying. I brought this up to the management, and they were apologetic, and immediately offered compensation for our trouble and offered to move us. We did not take them up on the move as it was just too troublesome to move, but REALLY appreciate the extra effort.

We had dinner at Maravilla which was one of the fine dining restaurants on the property. Full bar, excellent menu selections from the appetizers, different proteins and salads, and nice dessert selection. Everything we ordered was prepared perfectly, tasted fantastic, and served promptly. there is also a pub-style bar with outdoor seating overlooking the golf course.

The city wide walking/biking trail cuts through the property so walking into town is both convenient and pleasurable.

No disappointments throughout our stay, and if you decide to visit, I believe you will not be disappointed.

“Quiet Elegance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

This inn has everything one would expect for a 5-star property. I was on a cross-country trip and wanted to splurge for one night and wished I had time to soak in all the pampering for a longer time. The grounds are superb, the architecture is wonderful, and the staff ensures everything exceeds the highest of expectations. The rooms are very spacious in size, decorated with top-quality furnishings and decor items. The bed linens are sumptuous as are the towels, robes and slippers. There isn't anything I can see they can improve upon. I ordered room service which provided a nice variety of local cuisine. This is a perfect choice for a stay for two or a getaway with friends when you need some pampering. Thanks so much for being a highlight during my travels down memory lane! Ojai hasn't changed much in the 40 years since I visited as a kid!!

“Great Family Destination”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

We stayed at the Ojai Valley Inn for July 4th weekend 2011 with our 6 yr old daughter after leaving, swore we'd return every year. Super family friendly with a family pool AND an adult pool should you want to escape the kiddies. The resort recently underwent a renovation and we were in two adjoining fireplace rooms that overlooked the gold course. Our Virtuoso Travel Agent totally hooked us up with a sweet 2 for 1 room deal and we must have had 1500 sq ft between the three of us! The fireplace rooms are really nice - TONS of room and we had a really nice balcony.

Not that we spent a lot of time in the room - they have a great kids club that our daughter enjoyed, the aforementioned pools, golf, tennis, and of course the spa. Our travel agent got us free spa facility access which saved a bunch of money. My wife and I both had massages and although the place was packed with people (July 4 weekend) the masseuses were highly skilled and graceful. I thought the men's spa (steam-sauna-jacuzzi area) was a bit small, but maybe that's just because it was a super busy weekend (I would imagine any weekend there is busy however!)

July 4th there was a huge family affair - LOTS of kids. And on July 4 itself you can walk to the end of their driveway to see the Ojai parade which is lots of fun, then that night you can see the fireworks from the putting green right in front of the restaurant. A perfect night really - kids ran around on the gold course while fireworks exploded nearby and we sat sipping cocktails. We'll be back.

Room Tip: Go for the new Fireplace Rooms overlooking the gold course - they're HUGE
