“Good in Parts”

This motel advertises free high-speed Internet which is a must for us since we are away for 5 weeks and our family are all in England. We check if it's working as soon as we arrive and here it wasn't. We then had to wait while the desk clerk made phone calls and then got back to us. We then had to call their Internet provider and have long conversations. Finally they said we'd have to move because the sender wasn't working. So, back in the car with our stuff and off to another room. This all took over an hour and we'd lost time which we were going to spend on the beach. On checking out I asked for 10% discount for our inconvenience and was told no, we could have used the motel computer or sat in the lobby. That wasn't the point but he persisted, pointing out the room was now more expensive than when I reserved it - what had that got to do with anything? Eventually he agreed but no prizes for customer service there. The room wasn't especially brilliant but the breakfast was fantastic, let down by the fact there are nowhere near enough tables and balancing on laps on soft chairs in a busy lobby spoils the experience. Not up to the usual standard of Quality Inns in other places.

Dear VoyageurIntrepid,

As general manager of this hotel, I want to thank you for taking the time to post a review. Our success is dependent on the feedback we get from loyal Quality Inn guests like you. I'm sorry to hear that the internet was not functioning properly and that there was not adequate space to enjoy your breakfast. We assure you that this is not the norm, and we will make every effort to ensure it doesn't happen again. We hope that you'll give us the opportunity to make this up to you next time your're passing through. Please let me know if there's anything else we can do to make your next stay with us feel more like home.

Sincerely,

Kevin Mansour, General Manager

“Not bad for a Quality Inn”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2010

My family & I stayed at the Quality Inn on 4th of July weekend. The area was completely booked. We had reservations at the Ramada across the street (which I don't recommend.HORRIBLE SERVICE MANAGEMENT SUCKS) However, Keith at the front desk was great. They have a Casino next door. We had no issues with that since our room was facing it. Chinese Restaurant in the same parking lot (that was really good) lots & lots of fast foods (most of them walking distance) Rooms are a little bit outdated and small but was clean. You should consider on having your housekeeping smell the covers before putting them back on the bed (since they don't get washed everyday) because one of my 2 smelled like FEET. You charge almost $140 per night and per room. Management should consider on putting another employee at the front desk to help deliver amenities. Other than that it was a good stay.

“good value, clean rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2010

We stayed one night here, it is convenient to the I5 and also close to a pizza place/sports bar that was nice. (brewsters?) The room was dated but it was very clean and fresh. Plenty of hot water. Fridge and microwave. Coin laundry on site. The internet service was good. The staff were pleasant. We didn't stay for breakfast or use the pool. There is a chinese buffet on site that looked popular, though we didn't go there. Parking was convenient outside the rooms. We didn't find the room noisy apart from the obvious traffic noise you would expect. For the price this was a good value option for a stopover.

“Good deal but loud and stinky”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 April 2010

We got a two room suite, which was a great deal: two beds, two bathrooms, two tvs, two closets for the price of one room somewhere else. The breakfast was decent, but the same every day, which got old since we stayed 5 days. Oh, and the bread was stale. The staff was very nice and responsive. Really liked the staff. The hotel is right on I-5 and another busy street so there is LOTS of traffic noise. The walls are thin also, so we were kept awake by guests next to us and opposite us. My biggest complaint was the overpowering and disgusting smelling air fresheners all over our room. We should have been told about them. My nose literally hurt and my husband couldn't even be in that room of the suite. I took the one I saw out, not realizing there were two more. The room still stank the next day so I searched around and found another one and removed it. When it still stank, my husband asked the front desk and found out there was a third one hidden in there too. My clothes and luggage STILL stink. That is how strong they were. Apparently the room was left stinky by guests before us, so the hotel's solution was to provide a different stink.
I would recommend this hotel if noise doesn't bother you. I will say that guest noise was cut down quite a bit during the week, but very loud on the weekend. Guests were coming and going very loudly at all hours. I don't know if the casino next door had anything to do with that or not. The freeway noise was not so bad, but motorcycles along the street woke me up several times, which of course can happen anywhere.
I don't know if you could find anything quieter in this price range.

“Wonderful Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2010

In simple capsule form....Kimberly and Fred at the front desk...very helpful. Room comfortable. Bed also nice. Shower a little small for tall people but still gets the job done. Coffee in the morning is very drinkable. We will be back. Thank you.
