My boyfriend and I stayed here one night while we were visiting family in Oceanside. We checked in fairly late (after 10 p.m.) so there was only one staff member on duty who happened to be on a phone call so we had to wait about 10 minutes to get checked in. However, we were greeted warmly and received a little care package with a hand-written note as we are Priority Club members. It was a nice touch as it had been a long travel day for us. The room was clean and surprisingly spacious and the bed was fairly comfortable. There was adequate free parking but most of it isn't close to some of the buildings so it was a bit of a trek to haul our luggage. There also wasn't an elevator so we had to carry all of our luggage through the stairwell but, fortunately, it was only a two-story building. The property does appear to be older but kept up fairly well. While the Wi-fi was free, it was really slow when we connected. Also, the air conditioner was a bit noisy and it was hard to get it set to a comfortable temperature. The free breakfast had a decent variety of cereals, yogurts, eggs, cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit, etc. along with coffee, milk and juices. The location was convenient - right off 78 and within minutes to the 5. Overall, we felt it was a decent hotel at a decent price ($114 for a king on a weekday). However, if we were to return to Oceanside, we probably wouldn't choose this hotel for an extended stay.

We stayed here a few days before the 4th of July 2011 on a trip to visit my son in the Marines. I read the reviews beforehand and was a little nervous. But all-in-all our stay was pretty good. The room did smell a little musty, but we weren't in the room much. Once you were in there and was used to it...you didn't smell it anymore. The breakfast was great...the pancake maker was cool!!! We had a suite...an actual bedroom with two queen beds and a little living room with its own t.v. and little couch that pulled out into a bed. Parking was not a problem for because it didn't seem too crowded!

Wifi is super slow! So if you need to access your computer...you are out of luck! Noisy location, next to freeway, did not feel safe, room smells like mouldy wetness, T.V was old school, frig barely works.
Honestly, Don't stay here...! Extended stay off Carlsbad Village is 10 x's better and cost is cheaper!!

The people were great but the place is kind of old. My room had a slight moldy smell to it. When I turned on the AC it really had a moldy smell to it. I stayed for 4 days and then I moved to another holiday inn express. I felt that if I complained I'd probably would just get another
smelly room.
