Wonderful stay of four nights in the Jacuzzi Suite, room #168. I would say any room in the front building are the best. Wonderful jasmine trees planted up front and you get the sweet jasmine smell mixed with the fresh ocean breeze.

Amazed at some reviews I read on this property after we checked in. So shocked I asked to see the regular rooms both one and two beds. Everything very clean and presentable. They have free high speed wi-fi and kept the kids busy.

Legoland was OK, but more for younger kids

We changed motels at the last minute, because of poor reviews that we had read about the hotel we'd reserved first, but unfortunately we didn’t have access to the internet to check the reviews on the motel 9. And now that I am back home and have read the reviews, I swear that every negative review about this motel was right on. This is a dumpy, dirty, smelly excuse for a motel! And the continental breakfast was a joke - they handed out a individually packaged frozen pastry and the littlest carton of orange juice I've ever seen - 1 per person.
The only comment I have to add that is on a positive note is that ALL the Marines that were there were very polite!

Motel 9 is in an excellent location, have stayed at several motels in the area and for the price, best deal in Oceanside

rooms are much larger then motel 6, comfort suites, best value etc. and they have kitchen and jacuzzi suites that are even larger

weekend rates however tend to be higher. Most motels in the area have 10-30 tv stations, motel 9 had 80 channels along with two free movie channels. they have an adult channel late at night. I like large rooms and they offer things motel 6 and best value do not have, shampoo, coffee pot in the room, microwave, refr etc.

One time I had a problem with phone and the manager immediately came to my room and installed a new telephone for me, I found him very helpful and professional and was impressed with the speedy service

Harbor House cafe is just around the corner south of motel 9 and serves an excellent breakfast. The motel gives a free continetal breafast, but pretty small, just a Sara Lee Danish (Very tasty but small) and OJ

I love this spot, and enjoy waking up to the cool ocean breeze you will find in Oceanside. Down by the peer, if you are staying along time, there are wonderful cottages you can rent right on the beach

I've stayed here a few times when every thing else is sold out in Oceanside. This is a hotel I would not recommend. If you are just looking for a place to crash and leave, then it would be tolerable. But beyond that, you will be severly dissapointed.

While they have some ammenties such as in room fridge, coffee maker and microwave, this is about it for ammendities. There is only soap in the bathroom. Adult movies play after 9pm, so this is not a real family friendly place.

Oh, beware about their coupon policy-- depending on whether its a weekend or not, they may or may not accept coupons from their advertising.
