“Perfect Location, Overall Best Place We've Ever Stayed In Napa”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2010

If you are looking for a comfy home away from home, this is the place. We stayed here with 2 other couples, so it was really nice to have the whole place to ourselves to hang out and feel at home, yet at the same time having plenty of quiet space when we wanted it. Beds are super comfy (often hard to find in a B&B, at least from my experience) and rooms are a nice size (we had the master bedroom, which was huge). If you are looking for "luxury" as one other reviewer mentions, then go stay at one of Napa's high priced hotels...but you'll sure miss out on the charm and homey comfort of this awesome B&B if you do (and you'll have less money to spend on wine)! Don't get me wrong, I love staying in hotels when I'm in a big city, but when staying in wine country I'm looking for something with more personal touches and charm. Also, the B&B is smack dab in the middle of vineyards, which is so peaceful and part of the wine country experience. Oakville is the perfect location for exploring all of Napa...we've stayed in Yountville & in Calistoga in the past, which are both great, but Oakville really is central to just about everything. Also, Una, the innkeeper, was so nice and accomodating...fixing us yummy breakfasts each morning, yet giving us our privacy. The grounds are also very nice...we took advantage of sitting out by the pool, in the hammocks reading and just generally hanging out and enjoying the surroundings. We've been to Napa maybe 4 or 5 times, and this was our best find yet.

“Perfect location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2010

The B&B is in a perfect location for exploring Oakville vineyards such as Far Niente and Silver Oak or venturing to St. Helena or Calistoga, even Alexander Valley. Close to everything but far from the rush on Hwy 29. Turn left on Oakville Cross when leaving to go up to Silverado Trail or turn right to get to Oakville Grocery and the hustle bustle of 29. Una and John were excellent hosts, very accommodating, knowledgeable about the area, good recommendations for dining and vineyards to visit. Food was excellent and we had access to the kitchen to store wines and other goodies.

Great vacation in Napa.

“It was serene, magical, and sheer bliss.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2010

Our 2 nights at the Oakville VIneyard Bed and Breakfast was wonderful. Due to having friends with us on the trip, we had all 3 rooms taken for just us. The house was clean and Una was awsome, making sure we had everything we needed. Our biggest fear is that when we return to the Napa Valley, nothing else will possibly be as quiet and beautiful. “Old School B & B that needs some refining”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2010

We stayed along with another couple for the weekend. If you are looking for an upscale, adorable b&b with all the small touches, look elsewhere. However, you may be interested in an old school, very basic b & b (no door locks on rooms, no fresh soaps or shampoos, old teabags and cups, sparse continental breakfast, pool with leaves and debris in it all the time). There are no tvs, phones, and the wifi is spotty-some might like to be totally disconnected. It needs some TLC for sure. The innkeeper wasn't Sherry as noted in other reviews-the current ones were not accessible, had no recommendations for restaurants or wineries and seemed fairly off-putting. They also put out very limited or no breakfast (or too late --not say from 7-9 am, it was more like 9-11) - I think that having scones or muffins out early or a specific time that is known ahead would be better. The positives are that the rooms were well-sized, if slightly outdated decor, and towels were refreshed daily and there was coffee maker set up. Though you spend time out at wineries and restaurants, the in-between and night and mornings could be more delightful with a little effort from them. I do agree it is a very peaceful location that only has guests over 18 and only 3 rooms, with a unique (if not bumpy) long driveway going just between vines and a little garden and goats in their pen. It seems like with some effort it could be a hidden gem but it is very old school b& b with several kinks in it.

“Great stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2010

Really enjoyed our stay, even though it was our first exposure to a true B&B (where you eat breakfast with other guests, etc.) Comfy home in a beautiful area (well off the main road) .. beautiful drive home each afternoon. Super comfy room and bed (we stayed in the Master); newly refurbished master bath, which was lovely. Delicious breakfasts, with fresh scones, berries, and fritatta on different days. Will definitely return.
