This review is based on some things not under the hotels direct control, however from a customer service prospective (could have been better).
I was between business trips and my wife saw that this property offered spa tubs. I recently experienced my first back injury, so she broke out the champagne and cheese and crackers and started a surprise for me. My wife had some issues with the first room that seemed like a simple mistake by housekeeping, and the hotel responded promptly.
After moving my wife to another room, I arrived and was really excited to spend some time together. I did however have about 3 hours of work to do and really counted on the wifi service this property offers. To make a long story short I spent the next 4 hours on the phone with the internet service provider, the front desk, and fighting for any location in the hotel (another room for example) because I was told internet did work in the hotel at other locations. The hotel GM however felt that this request was unacceptable unless we moved from a SPA room to a basic room. (a catch 22 in my mind, and a good way to get me killed by my wife who planned this). The SPA was the amenity she wanted and why we where staying at a hotel less than 3 miles from home.
After speaking with the owner (Sonny) at home on a sunday, he did offer use of another room (Desk only - of course) to use. We tried several floors and different rooms but couldn't get connected. The business center was also down.
Overall - I think the only crutch to this hotel is the front desk staff that we dealt with on this particular visit. I would have appreciated more compassion and problem solving from the front line staff. I did feel however that this hotel does have a fantastic owner with a willingness to make this one of the best Comfort Suites in the system. This owner has vision and has a feel for what changes need to be made.
As a Trip Advisor reviewer I would recommend this hotel. If you have any issues and don't feel listened to or diverted by the GM or Manager, please at least take the time to leave Sonny a note with your thoughts. I truly believe he protects his staff, but is also open minded enough to take into consideration your thoughts and experiences.
I thank Sonny for being hands on like others have also mentioned, you can see in his eyes that he does want the best for this property. I hope this becomes contagious to all his staff. (wish it was in my business as well.....not easy)
