Good value hotel for a quick business trip. Right now the hotel is undergoing renovation, which I took into consideration. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. They have a van that will pickup at AP and Bart stations. Breakfast was quite good for a do it yourself breakfast. The food was quickly replaced if it got low and was very tasty with enough variety to satisfy most people. Only real negative is that the sheet on my bed had visible holes on the top sheet. They probably use a service, but the maids should have seen it, as it was on the turned down top. Other than that it was clean and comfortable.

Booked via Hotwire (I'll never use again, I'm tired of their "surprises.") Check-in was close to a nightmare, I was ready to smack some Customer Service into the lady. I did not receive mileage credit with my airline because I am not a La Quinta Returns member; this information from their corporate customer service center, told me not to join; and, never to stay in a La Quinta again. Other than the nasty woman who checked me in, all other staff were very friendly. The gym equipment could use some maintenance. The hotels closer to Oakland's airport are in a quieter area. Is any part of Oakland safe? Maybe Rockridge or Montclair. Areas with a lot of fast food restaurants are patronized by hoodlums. The hotel is fine, but the rooms (singles) seem cramped. The level of service I received during my check-in @ 10 AM, on a weekday, is the main reason for the poor rating. My next stay will be in a hotel offering a 'fridge and microwave in the room.

I've stayed at other La Quinta's however this one was not the best. First off the set up of the building is quite odd. The hallway on the second floor appears to go on forever, usually this isn't a problem for me, however, on my first night the hotels elevators were being repaired. The hotel rooms are somewhat well kept though the overall status of the room could be described as average. The staff was very helpful and pointed me in the right direction anytime I needed their assistance. Overall it was a decent experience but there are more viable options to choose from, to say the least I will not be staying here anytime soon.
