“It Was A Good Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

Because we didn't get a two adjoining campsite reservation at Yosemite for two consecutive nights, we stayed at the Oakhurst Lodge for one night and camped the next. The rooms were spacious and the air conditioning felt good that weekend we were there.

The Lodge has complimentary continental breakfast and free Wifi. There was a public computer in the lobby area.

Nearby you can get gas. There was a CVS Pharmacy across the street and some restaurants walking distance.

Stayed July 2011, travelled with family

Read all the reviews before staying, found the place absolutely great, friendly staff, clean rooms and the price was much better than its competitors - breakfast of juice, cereal, bagels, coffee etc now that beats any we have stayed in in our travels this month

Would definately recommend to any budget travellor

“Old renovated motor lodge”

After a terrible experience at the best western down the street, these local folks were so friendly and accomadating getting us four rooms for the next night and one immediately. Don't get me wrong it's not a Marriott but it was as clean and updated as other hotels in Oakhurst at half the price.

“What a disappointment!”

Enroute to Yosemite and needed a decent night sleep - but no luck here! Shower faucet ran all night and couldn't be shut off; it was drowned out by the loudest AC unit ever. Nothing quiet in the room at all - could barely sleep over the noise. There were several parties throughout the hotel until well past 2AM. Definitely not a family friendly hotel. Pool area was not clean. Shower water pressure was barely a trickle. Staff was friendly and somewhat sympathetic, but it didn't help. Breakfast was ok but needed to be restocked. Very over-priced - not worth the money at all. Keep looking elsewhere!

“Good value, close enough for Yosemite”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2011

Oakhurst is small town, few options for cheap motels. Took 3 rooms at Oakhurst Lodge for our family of 6. Pleasant staff. Free wifi, a bit slow, also 1 computer in Reception for guest use. Good sized rooms, clean, aircon, fairly comfy beds.Soap size of postage stamp (bring your own). At least as good as Travelodge we stayed in (LA and Palm Springs). Fridge in room, but no safe or microwave. Breakfast very basic as usual - coffee, juice, bagels, cornflakes, little choice, nothing more. (If you really need a decent meal go to local diner). Very small but nice swimming pool, pleasant setting with grassy lawns.
Main thing for us was that we could get to Yosemite. Had to wake at 6 to be out by 7.30 to drive there in our rental car - (about an hour). Even in the height of summer that was early enough to get a parking spot in the Valley from where you can see all the popular sights. Had v good advice from Jennifer Morgan, a park ranger at San Luis Reservoir where we had stopped by chance on way here from Monterey.
Staying more than a day I would spend more and stay within Yosemite itself, we just wanted 1 day as a taster.
Overall we all liked this motel.
