This hotel its awesome, clean, comfortable and spacious rooms, friendly staff, and really close to the beautiful Newport beach.
This gonna be my choice when i come back to Newport.

Based on reviews on Tripadvisor, I booked two rooms for Thanksgiving, 2011.
It is an older motel, BUT it is so clean, has large rooms, and refrig/micro in rooms.
The parking is free. The staff was wonderful: our husbands wanted to check in early like 10:00 to 11:00 to watch football. I was told to call at 8:00 am the day of to see if rooms had been used the night before. One was ready and one needed cleaning, but when we arrived the staff really went the extra mile. And the coffee kits had really good Columbian coffee.
Yes, ask for rooms near the back to avoid noisy street. Almost next door is Cappy's Cafe, which serves huge amounts of food on each order. We split a sandwich and could not finish it!
Breakfast menu was amazing. We plan to stay here next year!

A fully appointed spotlessly clean room across the street from the ocean in the heart of beautiful Newport Beach, the Newport Channel Inn offers stall showers, a new plasma TV and parking outside your door. I will certainly return when I'm in the area and I cheerfully recommend it to anyone.

Stayed here for 2 nights on a girl's USA roadtrip and were so glad that we chose this lovely little motel. Only 5 mins across the road in the beautiful beach and the hotel provide beach towels which are returned to a bin outside reception to prevent the rooms from getting covered in sand which was great. We had adjoining twin rooms on the upper floor which were really large with 2 very comfy double beds in each. It was great to be able to open the doors between the rooms and made it feel almost like a laege apartment.

Decor was slightly dated but for the price was fine and the rooms were very clean. The reception staff were lovely and full of great tips on where to eat, drink and best sights to see in Newport. There is a small sundeck on the roof which was lovely.

There are a few nice little restaurants within a few mins walk and we had a great breakfast in Cappy's Cafe just a few doors away.

Only downside I can think of is that the Newport Channel Inn is maybe a bit further out than we would have liked for the main restaurants and bars but the staff made it really easy for us by booking taxis and giving great advices on which bars to go to.

Would definitely recommend!
