“Very old Motel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2006

We stayed at the Best Value Inn, in Newbury Park California. 6/16,6/17
Parking was sparse.
The motel was very old and not in good repair. The upper level walkway was sinking / slanted, and even closed off in some areas as it was unsafe.
There was not a clock/ or alarm.
There was no remote control for the television and closed caption was in Spanish, we could not change it without the remote. My husband could not mute it while I was sleeping, he can't read spanish.
The room was too small for the bed, so the bed was pushed into the corner of the room. Going to the toilet in the night was a trick, climbing to the end of the bed, or over my mate. The bedspread must have been 20 yrs old, no exaggeration, and there was a twin sized blanket on a king sized bed - my husband got a sliver of blanket, that's all.

We will not stay in this place again.

My husband and I made a reservation Online with Genares, the hotels main reservation line, to stay at this particular hotel on 12/04/05 which, we thought was a smart move seeing that we have NEVER had a problem before. But, we decided to call the hotel directly to make sure our reservation was secure. We were told by the Manager that they had no record of us arriving. We informed him that we had put our credit card on the reservation as a hold. He stated again that he didn't have our reservation and we would NOT be CHARGED!!! Yeah...that was a bunch of CRAP!!! Our credit card WAS charged even though we did not stay at the hotel and WERE Promised that we would NOT be charged. I WILL NEVER STAY AND I HOPE NO ONE ELSE THAT READS THIS REVIEW WILL STAY!!! THEY DO NOT DESERVE YOUR MONEY.

“Excellent Room and price and strongly suggest to stay”

On Sept. 10 -11, 2005 weekend, we stayed at Best Value Inn, Newbury Park and room was very nice and clean. Even our king size bed was excellent. We loved our room. It was the best accommodation that we had it in our two weeks vacation in California. When we made a reservation, we told agent that we might check in early (11:a.m.). In fact, When we arrived at the hotel at 10:00a.m. and ask at front Desk for our room, the friendly front desk person told us that your room is ready and checked us in quickly. We were extremely happy for our accommodation. It seems that the they have remodel the rooms. The property was very nice and clean. The room rate even was very reasonable. I strongly recommend to stay at this property.

“Do Not Stay Here !”

This was my second stay at a best value (Corte Madera, CA & this one) within the week and I will not make that mistake ever again...It was disgusting..

Came to check in and he tells me rudely, that I have no reservation even though I have a confirmation number and called 2 weeks prior to confirm.
I should have ran while I could but didn't and got a room..
No remote for the TV and its 3 stations...the sink leaked heavily, the towel bar falls off the wall and then my wife tells me there are ants in the bed..
So I de-ant the bed only to wake up to roaches..

The very worst motel I have ever stayed in,,,, ever

The hotel was filthy, checked in and 30 minutes later asked for a refund was refused so now i will call better business B. also Enviromental Health of ventura county. If this does not prompt a refund there is always small claims court.
