This hotel’s location may leave something to be desired by the normal W patrons who need a buzzing city to go along with their purple hues and green apples. But as far as quality hotels in the bay area go, this one is among the top. The rooms are lovely large suites and the amenities match any other W out there. The pool is heated and nice, the living room suite furniture is comfortable (and baby friendly I might add!) Also, the wait staff was friendly and nice, help us with our bags and no delay.
One not-so-nice item are the prices of misc items. $15 for a continental breakfast that included cereal and some crap muffins? Seriously? Please. I purchased a 1L Fiji water and it was $7. Are you kidding $7!!!!!! That’s insane. I wouldn’t have been so pissed but the same 1L bottle in the room was only $3 (which I purchased and drank my first night there). They didn’t replace it and I needed another water at breakfast, so I grabbed this one and felt severely ripped off.
What is it about Starwood luxury properties that makes Starwood corporate leaders think that their patrons want to be nickel and dimed to death? Is it all the business travelers who don’t care and just expense small items like water, internet, and cereal? At some point even they will revolt, and the start of this revolution might be $7 water!
Room Tip: Request a room on the 4th Floor - the views of the marshland are sublime!!!

Please note that we are working to correct the issue you were experiencing with the price discrepancies on the Fiji water bottles. I have checked and noted that it is indeed $3 in the suite and $7 in the restaurant.
