Traveling through Needles, we were not expecting much in a room, but after reading several reviews we landed at the Rio and we pleasantly suprised. The room was huge, the bed was very comfortable and he pillows were spot on. Free wifi and free use of the printer in the office came in very handy. The desk staff was friendly and offered some good advice about local restaurants. All of this for $49.

We stayed here during the Christmas holidays and found the place to be very comfy.
It's quiet, the accommodations were nice and very clean. The bed was comfy, and we had a very good night's sleep here. We were doing a Route 66 Road Trip, and the Rio Del Sol was in a very convenient place along the way.
Some of the other hotels in town looked like they were having repair work done so we stayed at Rio Del Sol and would stay again anytime. Very friendly staff too!

I make visits here regularly to visit family and the downside has always been the m/hotels in town. I am so pleased that I decided to try the Rio. I am as picky as they come, I travel a lot and work puts me in 4-5 star hotels so when I come here I always bring my own bedding, towels, etc but I was delighted to find my room large, clean, the bed comfortable, the pillows perfect and the service very kind. In addition --- the water pressure is perfect, I have a fridge, a coffeemaker, free wifi, a blowdryer and it is CHEAPER than all the places I have stayed in town with better national reputations. There is always coffee is the lobby, the hot tub is enormous/enclosed and while the pool is not heated this time of year I look forward to swimming in it when it gets hot here.
How often is less expensive actually better than pricey?

Didn't expect the world from Needles, but did expect a decent night's sleep and friendly service. However Rio Del Sol Inn gave us neither. The pillows were so lumpy and cheap, it made for a very uncomfortable night. To make matters worse the air conditioning unit looked like it was from the 1960's and sounded like a jet plane. It would come on sporadically during the night and wake us up both up with a fright. The problem was the room was too hot to sleep without it on, as there was no windows to leave open safely.
Even the coffee at the front desk is terrible. Don't even offer milk, just some non-dairy powder that tastes like bathroom cleaner.
Would not stay here again, nor recommend to anyone who I actually liked.
