My family and I stayed at the Lake Marina Resort in Lake Berryessa the weekend of August 5th. The campsite was overcrowded and cramped. They claimed that we were staying in a "no group area" where you cannot have more than 6 people. We saw 9 camps with 12 people or more.

On Friday night the neighbors in campsite #20 decided to get drunk and test out their rapping skills. They continued to scream, rap, swear and blast their music as loud as their cars could manage. We complained and nothing was done about it. On Saturday morning we went to the front office to figure out what on earth took place the night before and they assured us that security was walking around the entire night. When questioned as to why nothing was done the manager said, "they must not have heard it.” Our other neighbors also confronted management and the manager told them they better pack up their stuff because they weren't going to happy at this resort (great customer service).

On Saturday night our neighbors invited 15 more friends (mind you the limit is 6) to get absolutely tanked. They were doing drugs, drinking and yelling at people. At the same time a group of young males down the hill decided to start a Mosh pit. They were shirtless, screaming, jumping around to their heavy metal music and hitting each other in the head and face. The sheriff ended up coming 2 and 1/2 hours later and arrested one kid.

The security guy in a golf cart approached our neighbors and told them that the Sheriff was coming to talk to them. All of the under-age drinkers took the booze and ran down the hill. The Sheriff never approached the group. When the golf cart pulled away one of the guys looked over at our campsite, flashed his light in our faces and said, "It was those mother f'ers who complained." We felt threatened so we packed up all of our stuff at 1:00 in the morning and headed home. We spoke with the Sheriff before we left and he told us that this is one of the worst resorts in the area. They used to be a lot worse and it's getting better each year.

We contacted the resort the following day and asked for our money back. They told us that they don't give refunds. We explained what had happened and they told us to pound sand. Her exact words were, "you made the decision to leave."

We have never been more appalled with a campground and I would highly recommend you stay away from this place. Getting to the water from the campsite is also a chore. Worst place we've ever stayed at.
